Tom-Tom 09-21-2006, 11:47 AM fickle-fans always...winning solves many problems...pre-season was a disaster, it has created this hostile atmosphere...#8-(joke)was great...MB- "throw the ball down the feild!"... "smash-mouth" I would love to see, especially Nov. 5th..... look-out Texans, the Skins need a great game!
redduke44 09-21-2006, 11:54 AM I agree with you 100%.why not let jason cambell get som playing time this week, because the next three games(jags at home, giants on the road and colts on the road)it,s on now and real fans need to reconize it.we can,t afford to give away games that we sould win period.i trust joe,s decisions but when is enough enough?the only bright spot on the team is sean taylor, that boy is an animal, and we can,t expect him to do everything.
Daseal 09-21-2006, 12:07 PM Matty, don't you think complacently going along is also a form of jackassery? Something is wrong, that obviously the mighty Gibbs couldn't fix before the season, so there must be some problems. He's a coach, he makes a lot of mistakes. If he didn't football wouldn't be fun.

Jackassery is thinking that with the help of a TiVo, we as fans are more in the know than the coaches and players.
Nobody is denying something is wrong and things need to be fixed. I don't think there is a Redskins fan alive that would deny that. I don't think any of us are complacent right now. We want changes, but do I know more than Gibbs and company because I can watch a game in slow motion with my TiVo?
In the end some of us just trust that the coaches know what's going on and will get things turned around.

Excuse me, but I don't think any of us TiVo users ever claimed to know more than the coaches, we (offiss and I) merely rewatch the games to see who appears to have screwed up so we can discuss the players here on this forum. If jackassery is what we are doing, then "headupurassness" are those that constantly criticize anyone who questions the players or coaches. We don't claim to have the knowledge and know how of the coaches, but that doesn't mean we cant criticize. Under your logic no one on this site could ever criticize this team unless they were in the Football Hall of Fame.

I am one of those who truly believe's this coaching staff will get things turned in a positive direction. I recall so well JG first year here we went 0-5, I didn't loose faith then, and I won't now. I believe we will win every game we play. Will I predict it, NO Will I bet it NO but regardless of the score
or time in the game I always believe we're going to win. I will watch every minute of every quarter of every game, we never loose we just run out of time. If I didn't have that kind of faith it wouldn't make sense for me to watch the games at all.
It's the Madden Football syndrome. People think they're experts because if it works on the video game, it must work in real life!
As a college Football player I have to say that video games are no substitute for the real thing...TRUST ME lol

What was it that made you not lose faith in him back then? I mean I can understand now, because of his track record. But I'm just curious what made you believe back when he lost the first 5 games of his NFL coaching career?

I feel like this is a never ending argument between the glass is half empty people and the glass is half full people.
I'm not saying don't criticize. I have never said that, and I myself have openly questioned plenty of things. I started the thread asking if Saunders was a mistake.
Whether it's intentional or not, some people just come off with this attitude like, I watched the game again on TiVo so I know what's really going on.
Daseal 09-21-2006, 03:41 PM Every time a critical point comes up I always just see "we don't know as much as Gibbs and his 4 rings."
We're not in the know, this is for sure, but this board would be awful boring without plenty of speculation. I think most of the people that come on this board are fairly educated fans who don't really jump to conclusions. The thing about Tivo is with it you can see what mistakes were being made. Everyone will disagree on the exact problems, but coaching staffs do that all the time. I know when I rewatch games, rewind parts, etc I often change my mind about what went wrong or happened on a play.
