So we are 0-2. Last year at this point we were 2-0. We played about as crappy our first 2 games last year as well. We just got lucky.
In the first game we got 3 field goals. The bears almost took the lead late in the fourth quarter but their QB threw a bad pass and we picked it off. That could have gone either way, just like the Vikings game.
We all remember the Dallas game. They outplayed us the whole game last year as they did this year. After what happened last year and all the talk about it, you can't see Dallas giving up two huge plays like that again. At least in this game we scored 10 points in the first half. I know those passes to Moss were amazing, but we could have maybe even should have lost that game... and been 1-1 or 0-2.
The team got off to a slow start just like this year... We just got a few more breaks in '05. We'll see what happens...

That seems to be most people's feelings around here, eh?

Don't forget, we almost lost the first three games last year. Seattle's kicker blew a 41yd FG that could've won them the game.
I'm not worried about 0-2. I am worried about how we are playing though.

At least in this game we scored 10 points in the first half.
Well, let's pick apart those 10 points, shall we?
The field goal was part of a "drive" that included two personal foul penalties against Dallas, with one of them being complete BS. I'm sorry. These days, the refs are treating quarterbacks as though they are flag football players. That roughing the passer penalty should not have been called.
And while it's great to see special teams step up, and I'm happy for Rock Cartwright, it was all for naught -- we need to see the offense take it to the house.

hopefully the woeful Texans will help the Skins get that jumpstart they ever so need...

That's true. But our offense looked just as bad or worse in the game last year .... for the first 56 minutes, at least.

So what's your point? Last year we started 2-0 in spite of playing poorly and finished 10-6. This year are we going to go 8-8?
Regardless of how the games go, there is a pretty damn massive difference between being 0-2 and 2-0

The point is that everyone's mood is completely different than last year this time... and yet the team is playing at about the same level.
Hopefully this year we can really kick it into gear before the 10th or 11th game... like we did last year.

if you think our defense played this crappily lat year, i seriously suggest you go back and rewatch that bearss and dallas game. they gave up 20 points, not 46.
