We're off like a herd of turtles.

Let's not freak out yet. Brunell has to get comfortable with the offense (along with the rest of the offense) and this is a good team for that to happen. Let's not act like the season is lost. We are going into week 3 playing Houston. If we lose this one, then we can freak out!

The point is that everyone's mood is completely different than last year this time... and yet the team is playing at about the same level.

Hopefully this year we can really kick it into gear before the 10th or 11th game... like we did last year.

The mood was completely different because ummm... Washington was 2-0 and they had just beaten Dallas in a heartstopper. This year, the piss poor level of play has cost them the first two games, and they were just shellacked by Dallas. It's not that hard to figure out the difference in attitude.

And kicking it into gear by week 10 or 11 won't matter much, when they're 3-8 by that point...

I have to agree with you. No matter how sloppy those first two games were last year, they were still wins. The team still has a really tough schedule ahead of them after Houston and wins are going to be really hard to come by.
Last season was really nice and all, but a lot of things went our way, so we really shouldn't be looking back too much.

i see your point but it doesn't make me feel any better. i am glad though that houston is next. if we lose to them, then start to worry, big time.

Cooley was on Elliot in the morning today and he said the same thing.

Exactly. This team reminds me of the 2001 Chicago Bears. That team had the ball bounce their way several times that season, and ended up going 13-3. In 2002, all the lucky bounces they got in the previous season were going the other way, and the exact same personal went 4-12.

That’s what is happening to this Redskins team. The breaks they got last year, aren’t going their way this year, and they have to rely on talent(that is severely lacking at some positions) and execution that isn’t anywhere close to polished yet.

Good point. We are getting zero breaks so far...

Oh yes, and someone else said the D played better the first 2 games last year which is true... that's something that's definitely disturbing.

The offense on the other hand seems no different than the first 2 games last year... except for the 2 long passes in the Dallas game.

It is still early in the season. I expect the offense to get into gear against the Texans and carry that into the rest of the season. With Portis back, we are a different team on Offense.

The defense needs to wake up and play hungry football. They need to be more aggressive and go after the QB. Too many 3rd down conversions.

The special teams can right on scoring a TD per week for all I care.

We are a good team that is underacheiving right now. This week we win big-- 35-3
