They need to make it so NCAA atheletes can get paid, Either have the universities who make tons of cash off them give them a little bit, or let them accept marketing deals. Most kids that age can go out and get a job to afford things they want -- but not these football players. My step-sister was playing D1 soccer till she got rear ended in an automobile and her career was ended. Luckily her schoolarship opened up a bit more room for my dad to give her spending money, but for kids with parents that can't necessarily pay extra, it can be tough! He can't accept donations for the kid's education (even from people not associated with the school in any way) or little favors like rides to school from the coaches' wives because the NCAA says that's a violation. I agree with you Daseal, they should be able to get at least some money for living expenses and that sort of thing.
