I suppose, but you are missing the point of this thread, it's meant to get the trash talkin started, not to dig back into actual Cowboy history to find out the real reason. Get in the spirit if you're a true Redskins fan, this is what is so great about the rivalry, especially when one lives in Texas and is surrounded by Cowboy fans. I can't help it and believe me, neither can they. Oh, and technically there are two Stars on their helmets, not a lone star.

its kind of hard not to clown on you right now. You are from Texas, you would think of all people you may understand the ONE star on each side of the helmet. the ONE start is the LONE star, I guess the football ball field since it has a star in the middle of field and stars in the endzone that is wrong too?

A really tough question : why do the colts have horseshoes on their helmets?
And what is with the wings on the eagles helmets, that is stupid.

I actually like the Star on the helmet, and I happen to think Dallas has one of the better looking uniforms in the NFL too.

Okay, it's time to pull out the gay little blue and white cowboy that was posted way back when.

Actually the star has been the symbol of Dallas sense the start of the team. In resent years they where thinking of a new symbol that was until Arington laid that hit and Aikman. When they saw Aikman sitting on the bench with that circle of stars going around his head they knew the star was the perfect logo.

It's not a star as we know it, it's a pentagram representing the union of the male and female anatomy. The Dallas Cowboys are devil-worshipping perverts!

cuz you know like in the cartoons when someone gets hit they see stars.. they knew that Sean Taylor was coming way back then so the figured they just as well put stars on their helmet to show the stars since in real life you cant actually see the stars when they get hit byt Taylor.
