I suppose, but you are missing the point of this thread, it's meant to get the trash talkin started, not to dig back into actual Cowboy history to find out the real reason. Get in the spirit if you're a true Redskins fan, this is what is so great about the rivalry, especially when one lives in Texas and is surrounded by Cowboy fans. I can't help it and believe me, neither can they. Oh, and technically there are two Stars on their helmets, not a lone star.

As much as I love the Redskins, I'm very proud of the State.

So we have two Indians then?

Look dude, what are you trying to tell me, that I'm not proud to be a Texan just because I won't admit to the Cowboys logo as being representative of the State Flag? Stop posting ridiculous replys. The fact of the matter is that while I may be a Texan, I do not live in Dallas and do not care for how that city represents this State, especially the city's most notable residents Mark Cuban and Jerry Jones. Again, you are still missing the whole point of this thread! Please stop sucking up to the Star Logo on the Cowboys Helmet and make some noise for the Skins!! If you can't do that then you need to get off the Warpath, strap on your shitkickers and your chaps, and get on that cattle trail with the rest of your star gazing compadres!

I mean if you really want to delve into the history the star makes no sense, as the star virtually reperesents a badge of a police officer of the old west, and if youre completley clueless about the history of the cowboys go watch Tombstone, wyatt erp etc... the cowboys logo should be a gay little red sash as not only does that represent true cowboys but the gays that step onto the field every sunday as well

They were called Dallas Texans 1st year...it's in your Dallas Cowboy's Haters handbook people.......But as far as the thread....its what they decided on after Talbert smacked Staubach upside the head, and thats all he saw for the rest of the season! So they thought it would be easier for him to locate his receivers that way.

P.S. Love the name and welcome KILLER!!!! HAIL SKINS!!!

I never take it personally, I merely represent. And you're right, this is supposed to be fun and it sure as hell is.

I think it represents the twinkle in the eye of the other cowboy whilst sitting around the campfire on yet another lonely cattle drive. Basically, cowboys like either, a lot.
I stand by this joke, but I feel like it was lost in all the bickering, so I'm quoting myself. Damn it.
