The sky is not falling and yes we still have 15 of 16 games to play, but losing Prioleau for the season is going to affect us more than most might think. Not only was Prioleau a solid and versatile back-up safety, but he was also a good special teamer. I think he's going to be missed.
Any guesses as to who steps up and fills his role? Stoutmire, Bowen, and the other experienced safeties are gone.

I agree totally. Prioleau was a good versatile safety that could play both safety spots and cornerback when needed. He was essentially the backup at both safety spots. This is gonna severely hurt our depth in the secondary.

Ryan Clark, maybe? Oh yeah, he's gone, too. We're looking thin in the secondary. Once Springs is back, things should improve. I hope Shawn came come back strong.

I wonder if we'll be able to pick up a free agent safety a la Ryan Clark. Does anyone know of any FA safeties out there?

They could bring back Antuan Edwards, who was here for a couple of weeks in August.

not at this point. maybe if the skins tried back when they were available...
best hope is doughty learns fast or rumph can pull it off. PP was going to play a lot because arch can't cover, so it's a bigger blow than just DB depth.

What about Stoutmire? I thought he played well last year. I can't imagine that the Saints would want too much for him. Throw them a 7th rounder!
Gibbs said something about submitting the play on which he got hurt to the league. I don't recall seeing anything fishy, does anyone else?

I thought he just slipped?
Gibbs said that Danny Smith saw something... something about someone going after him, but he really didn't elaborate much.
