reed doughty looks like he has some potential, throw him in there every once in a while. i feel for pierson, he is a vt alum :), and it was the first kickoff of the whole season. has to be so frustrating and infuriating for him. heres to a sucessful and speedy recovery

turf gremlin, he just took two steps (no contact) and fell down. same thing that happened to jon jansen (and more recently, JAC's DE hayward). I saw all three and they all looked more or less the same.

Damn, not good. I mean he was our #4 guy in the secondary, but he was still important to this team. Thats really not a good injury...I could almost feel the bad omen coming as soon as I saw him go down.

I had no idea who it was laying on the field until he got up. I was concentrating on the play down the field. I didn't really think at the time that it was that big a deal, but now I am really concerned with our secondary. Pearson was our nickel back and Archs replacement on third down. Arch is a good run stopping safety but his cover skills leave something to be desired. So now we are down to Reed and Burns at safety and who at back up corner? Oh by the way Rumph is terrible and worth about as much as taylor jacobs was to us. You know what on second thought he is much more costly of a player because he is going to give up big plays and touchdowns. Shit I hope we can get a secondary!!

matty, coach gibbs said someone was going after him? its a football game, for christsakes. and P.P. going down hurts, bigtime. very good on special teams and understands our defense. probably part of the reason the skins felt comfortable letting ryan clark go. seems like he is always around the ball

The vikes sent someone upfield to attack PP directly and stop him early instead of the usual waiting for the first wave of defenders to come down to them. PP tried to avoid him alot earlier in the return, hence why he had to try that unexpected juke. there was no contact.
I dont think it's illegal, but apparently its cheap, because PP himself talked about it in his post-game interview with some disgust.

I don't see how the Vikes' move was a cheap one. If I respected someone's special teams play, I too might try to take him out before he got downfield. I don't think they tried to injure him, they just tried to stop him.
It's one of those unfortunate things. Simply a freak accident.

I never thought I'd miss Prioleau so much.
