Skins add OL Wadejbcjr14 09-05-2006, 02:46 PM Redskins Add Wade to O-Line (http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=19450) Big C 09-05-2006, 02:48 PM he used to be fairly decent when he was with miami, good signing as a backup MTK 09-05-2006, 03:02 PM Scouts Inc. Profile: Full Name: Todd McLaurin Wade Born: October 30, 1976 Greenwood, MS Height: 6-8 Weight: 317 lbs. Age: 29 Pos: OT Experience: 7 years College: Mississippi Drafted: Year:2000 Round:2 Pick:22, Dolphins Shows some ability to move lateral and position block. Has some ability to cut-off on the second level. Will battle in-line. Plays with solid balance. Can wall off in-line. Shows some ability to pull to the short side and make some contact. Will lunge and go down off the snap. Gets his legs locked on base blocks and will have his body too far forward - he is a waist-bender. Needs more consistency with hand placement. Will fire off the ball and miss in short yardage situations. He looks stiff on his pass set slide. Gets his shoulders turned, will give up angles to the quarterback. Has a hard time vs. bull rushers, gives too much ground - has late hands and gets out-leveraged. Falls off chip blocks. He has a big wind-up on his punch. steveo395 09-05-2006, 03:08 PM good pickup as a backup ArtMonkDrillz 09-05-2006, 03:13 PM I don't know how I feel about having a former Texans O-lineman on the team, even if he is just a back-up. steveo395 09-05-2006, 03:15 PM I don't know how I feel about having a former Texans O-lineman on the team, even if he is just a back-up. we have tyson walter too...who was a texans backup at least wade was a texans starter scowan 09-05-2006, 03:18 PM Scouts Inc. Matty, this guy is a huge speciman, but this report does not sound very good? What do you think? paulskinsfan 09-05-2006, 03:32 PM How good can he be if Texas cut him? Seriously, they had one of the worst offensive lines in the league. JWsleep 09-05-2006, 03:46 PM Injury is the issue, IMO. If he's healthy, he's a good backup. As for the Texans, it's hard to say how good or bad these guys are. The TEAM sucked, so everyone looked weak. MTK 09-05-2006, 03:52 PM He sounds like a solid backup to me. He's got starting experience and what it comes down to is he's better than anything we already had, I know, that's not saying much. I've got a buddy who's a Dolphins fan and he said phins fans hate the guy. He was a promising young OL who signed took the money and ran with Houston, but has never lived up to the hype. Maybe after being cut he'll be hungry to revive his career. |
