I don't think we can lay all this at Foley's feet and say he should have done this or that. He was basically at home. One thing is for sure, he shouldn't have been driving drunk - not that damn drunk. But near his house?
No patrol cars in sight and a guy in plain clothes is telling you to pull over?
Him being drunk comprimised his ability to assess the situation. If someone is in plain clothes, showing me their badge, holding a gun at me telling me to stop... I'm listening to him. If you have a rational brain about it... you can realize the severity of the situation and look at it that way. He chose to drink, he chose to drive, he is at fault.
I think more should have been done, and I'm very sensitive to the race issue. However I don't feel it applies in this one particular instance.

No, no I agree with, in part, to what you're saying. Foley was being totally irrational.
But then again, I've never had a guy in plain clothes tell me to pull over.

No doubt, that shit's crazy... was it an unmarked vehicle... like lights and the works.. or was it literally a man randomly pulling aside him.
regardless... if that's the case. Your supposed to call the actualy police and say... meet me at my house... theres some guy claiming to be an officer... etc... and if your drunk.. once again it compromises your ability to see whats happening. very unfortunate.

I think it was a regular, unmarked car.

if i know anyone that is not white? what the hell is that supposed to mean? grew up in the poor section of town, with all types of friends. im saying if you obey the police, you will be better off in the end. just because your of color doesnt mean you have the right to disobey authority, and then when they react, play the race card. this was foleys second run in with the law in the last 3 months. the chargers have put him on a list that means he doesnt play at all this season and DOESNT get paid. who do you think was in the wrong now?
your friend acted sensible in the presence of the police. he was neither shot or arrested. maybe the path foley should have picked
Didn't mean to offend you.
My example of my friends repeatedly being pulled over for nothing was illustrated to show you that just because you obey laws doesn't mean you don't get pulled over. Other things come into the mix sometimes.
Again I'm not saying Foley is innocent but what I am saying is the cop should have called back up and laid off a little. I have a lot of respect for police but shooting an unarmed man never looks good. His story is a little weird. Sees this guy nearly miss multiple cars on the highway driving erratically. Identifies himself than says the woman tries to run him over? Foley pretends he has a gun, and so he shoots? Foley keeps charging after being shot and he also doesn't call back up throughout this whole thing? It takes seconds to call 911. It seems that if both Foley and the woman were so against this guy maybe he had a run in with them or they really didn't believe he was a cop.
I'm just saying....its not so simple.

On top of their current LB Foley, isnt Donnie Edwards begging to be traded to the Saints?
This team has L. Tomlinson. The Barry Sanders of our generation/ new RB of the future. Why are they not building a team over there? There club is doomed. But thats what they get for having all those fine women and good weather.

2-3 years ago there was a lunatic in an unmarked car with fake police badges and gadgets pulling over people in Maryland, mostly women. I cant speculate further meaning I dont know if they were raped or killed but you have to be careful.
That seems like good advice to call the police yourself if your unsure. I dont have a cell that seems like the most logical thing to do at nite, when an unmarked car pulls you over. Although, once backup arrives dont doubt for a second that they wont beat you unmercifully for wasting their time. Your ass is getting beaten bad for that. Just get your camera's ready or as TO (my favorite 4th grader says) get your popcorn ready.
Put me in pads for week 2 I will end TO's career forever. He may not walk right when Id be done with him.
