Rumor: Gibbs to pack it in after season?

They start this rumor every single freakin' year! Joe is here for the duration of his contract.

When he hired Saunders, it signaled that a change is coming. I personally believe that he will be here threw his 5 year contract (This is what he said earlier this year when he spoke at our church and I believe it) but will hand off more responsibility each year to make it managable. I hope that he stays after that in some capacity... maybe like Walsh in SF.

it's a long way off, let's not even think about it. i hope like hell he stays in some capacity when he does decide to step aside. all i'm thinking about is game 1 of this season.

:pffff: This will never go away until he does really retire. I don't listen to it anymore. I think Joe will stay another 2 years just like He said He would.

well if he does pack it in i think we have a few assistants on our staff that would make great coaches....but as it stands its a unconfirmed rumor. I tell you sometimes i wonder about the people on this site with all the damn rumors. IT SUCKS!!! I hate rumors.

Only way i see Coach Gibbs leaving before his contract is up is because of health issues. He is not planning on leaving until atleast he fulfills his contract.

I wouldn't rule him out retiring......has anyone forgotten how he looks after games? He's exhausted and it's wearing him down now. I realisticly expect two more years out of Coach before he decides to retire, but I wouldn't be suprised to see him retire after this year.

Gibbs ain't going nowhere without two Lombardis... yeah I said it.... we're gonna tie up with Dallas (actually pass Dallas, we have two NFL championships)

if it happens it happens. thus far all the predictions of his retirement have been wrong though, so i'll wait until he announces it himself.
