Anybody heard what's going to happen to Peppi Zellner? Are we going to resign him or let him walk don't we need the depth

In reality, the Skins do not have to worry about depth at DE. They don't have enough talent at DE to worry about who will back-up the starters. They need talent at DE; they don't have nearly enough.

If Pippi Zellner is the "key to your season",then that key might just be the one that unlocks the restroom door.

I disagree. Yeah, we do need a good pass rushing end but both Daniels and Wynn are solid run stuffers. The only decent backup behind them is Upshaw. I'd rather see us sign somebody like Jamal Reynolds (who could be used as a situational pass rusher) and concentrate on getting a big run stopper at DT. However, Zellner isn't a bad backup and he would probably come cheap.

I thought Zellner was decent coming off the bench, plus he can slide over to DT in pass rushing situations.

True he's not the answer to our prayers or anything, but I would think he's worth taking to camp.

do you guys remember this from late last season:

Bruce Smith and Peppi Zellner had to be separated at practice after the two got into a heated argument -- that nearly turned physical. Zellner at one point in practice said something to Smith along the lines of, "Why don't you just get your sack, so you can finally retire."

Smith then fired back by asking Zellner how many sacks he has had in his career, which is obviously nearly 200 less than Smith's total. Smith also said Zellner could put his best years together and Smith's worst years are still more impressive. Zellner then hit belw the belt by insisting teh only reason Smith is still on the roster is because he is social with owner Snyder.

Smith fired back by agreeing with the younger player, then saying all he had to do is place one call to that same owner and Zellner would be kyboshed as a 'Skin. At that point, Zellner told Mr. Sacks he's ready to take on the old man. Smith wanted to oblige, but teammates jumped in.

Well at least Zellner calls it like he sees it, gotta respect him for that.

about the Bruce Smith situation.......Zellner was a cowboy, we should expect things like that.

Why waste money on Zellner when we could pick up a youger guy in Reynolds who has some upside instead of a career backup. We need to start grooming some d-linemen so we wont be in this situation in the future.

About the Bruce Smith situation, I agree and side 100% w/ Peppi. On the situation of him on the team, we need all the DE and DT's we can get on the roster going into training camp, and just try them all out, and whoever is left there in the end, is our starting front four.

Cowboy or not, I can't argue with what he said.
