I'd rather lose them all (preseason) than win them all. We will turn the corner thursday against BAL. Does that mean we'll will? No but, the offense will be sharper and the defense will do thier thing.

I was looking for the button when Portis and Springs went down. But then I read a few reports, realized they aren't going to miss serious time, sat down in my chair, and fell asleep. Wake me when September [Comes]. I hate Green Day. steveo395 08-27-2006, 07:24 PM I hate Green Day. now thats the smartest thing ive heard all day mheisig 08-27-2006, 08:02 PM I'm not worried, but last nights game has dampened my enthusiasm a bit. I firmly believe preseason is complete crap and no indicator of anything in the regular season. BUT, a 41-0 pounding just doesn't sit well. I know the gameplan is limited, the playbook is limited, all that stuff. But we just looked BAD last night. No heart, no drive, no enthusiasm - the entire team was outplayed. Outplayed as a team, outplayed man to man. Does that mean the sky is falling and we're doomed to be the bottom-feeders of the NFC East? Of course not. Other teams I've watched in the preseason have looked good (Giants, Cowboys, Eagles, Indianapolis, etc.) I'm not talking their win-loss record, I'm talking the play of the starters. They look quick, sharp, efficient and in control. Frankly the 'Skins last night look completely befuddled - like no one knew what was going on, and on every side of the ball. I'm not crying myself to sleep or worrying myself sick, but it does make you wonder how a team with as much player and coach talent as we have end up getting humiliated 41-0, even if it was a meaningless game. NicknacK89 08-27-2006, 09:40 PM i was at the skins game on saturday against the pats and i can not honestly say one thing they did that impressed me RobH4413 08-27-2006, 10:47 PM i was at the skins game on saturday against the pats and i can not honestly say one thing they did that impressed me They're not trying to impress you yet. They're evaluating players, running vanilla schemes, and working on timing. We aren't there yet, but that's expected. Someone earlier said he would rather lose all the games and I'm right there with you. Gibbs is a sports psychology genious, I mean look at the mans track record. We all saw how he talked up the 49'ers and look at the result. We crushed. We had a huge offseason, made it to the playoffs and there's a lot of hype. A LOT of hype. We are all part of that hype. What better way to eliminate over-confidence (joe gibbs despises this) then to get blown out 41-0. Trust me we're fine. Come monday night, we will see a very different motivated team. onebum 08-27-2006, 10:52 PM I don't see any reason to worry, we havn't lost a game yet this year. It will be 3-4 weeks before I even consider that we may not win big this year. Panic right now, not hardly. Though thats my thought on it, I will say it SUCKS DONKEY DOO DOO to watch and listen to games in which my team does that poorly. No worries, but i don't like hearing them lose at anything, even a which teams locker room has the cleanest floors competition. RobH4413 08-27-2006, 10:59 PM I agree it is certainly not entertaining. That's where beer comes to the rescue. SKINSnCANES 08-27-2006, 11:06 PM no worries..its early, we are playign scrubs to see if they are any good...and we arent game planning. The coaches are looking at our players, not studyign the other teams film. They will be ready for the regular season becasue they will prepare to play the Vikings, not prepare to evaluate talent hooskins 08-28-2006, 12:00 AM All you people saying it is not a big deal, I really admire your optimicism. Yeah we won the Super Bowl in 91 with a bad preseason, and same with Saunders overall record in the preseason. But if you go back and look at those scores, there is a huge difference. Our offense hasn't done shit, and maybe we should not be so hard on them because they have only used "2 percent" of their offense, but still we generated almost no points last couple games, so that is not a good sign. We should be much harder on our defense, because there is no excuse to give up so many points, regardless of what string you are. On the positive note, it is better to lose now than later, but that doesn't mean we should not be a bit worried. Same applies with injuries as well. |
