Yeah, this rumor is rediculous and would be a VERRRRY dumb trade on our part. I mean we trade the 42nd pick and Champ Bailey, esentially for the 21st and 32nd picks??? Thats obsurd . I havent heard it anywhere, and hope that I dont have too.

This trade makes no sense to me either. I find it hard to believe and even though it came from the "Worldwide Leader in Sports" just remember even they have been wrong before....how many draft picks did we get from the Dolphins when they named Spurrier coach? you see my point?

If this is true, this has got to be the dumbest move the Skins could make. What the hell's the point? 2 first round picks? Niether one would be as good as Portis. New England's picks are low and we couldn't get a decent runner at that spot. There aren't even that many decent runners in the draft. This would be absolutely ridiculous!

I've heard about contact between the Skins and Pats but not in relation to a deal to send Portis to NE.
What I heard was that IF the Bailey/Portis deal is finalized, the Skins are looking to acquire more draft picks and would trade down from the #5 slot. Supposedly, they contacted the Pats to see if they could have the two low first rounders from the Pats for the #5 pick. The answer to that was "NO".
The way it stands now - I hear - is that if the Skins get the early first round pick from the Pats they will also get a 3rd round pick with it. If they take the lower first round pick they then get a second with it.
Obviously, I don't have the phones bugged in the Redskins' office - or in the Pats' office - so this is third hand info at best.
Of those two choices, I would prefer they take the lower first round pick and a second roung pick. But that's just me...

I think we should just stay where we are....we need help now in the secondary and if Taylor is there at 5, grab him please...if he is gone, then trade down and grab a D linemen and have some extra picks

I agree, Beg. I'm still curious who we nab in the FA market.

That makes a lot more sense. I had heard some #5 for the Pats' two first rounders rumors as well. Does anyone know which show this Portis rumor was on?

They need to keep the 5 and draft Taylor. The Pats can shove their second or third round picks...
