Decent team, McNabb should be decent at QB and your backs are solid. You could try to get more depth at WR, I mean as of now you have Harrison, Kennison, and maybe Mason as big number wideouts, and personally I do not think Kennison will be good this year. TE and K is solid, as is the D.
Should have posted this thread in the Fantasy Football section tho lol ;)
Hail2theskins 08-24-2006, 07:55 PM oh i didnt even know there was a FF section, my bad
That Guy 08-24-2006, 10:31 PM good draft. bledsoe or mcnair are better than vick if available. zach hilton can be tossed for more RB depth. I'm not sure how much white is going to play. dillon and johnson are good picks though and you've got good WRs (i'm assuming return yards, which make dante killer). JJ and kennison are probably going to had down years though.
you should also ditch tynes... there's no need for 2 kickers over RB depth.
on D you're good. I don't think mario is going to do much this year compared to some other guys you could grab off the waiver wire. pacman could probably be upgraded a bit too.
EEich 08-24-2006, 10:53 PM Ditch some of your backups at TE, K and/or WR and pick up some RB depth.
Those three guys won't be enough to get you through the season.
My teams usually looks something like this:
2 QB
5 RB (RBs are gold in most fantasy leagues)
4 WR (generally FA fill-ins emerge throughout the year)
1 TE
2 DEF (allows you to play matchups)
1 K (never a need to carry more)
Hail2theskins 08-24-2006, 10:58 PM yeah ive got return yards, i just traded tines for deangelo williams, and picked up chris simms, (sorry mcintosh)
That Guy 08-24-2006, 11:30 PM tynes for DJ? who made that deal? good for you though.
Monkeydad 08-25-2006, 11:53 AM what do you guys think of my draft:
QB's: Mcnabb and Vick
RB's: Larry Johnson, Corey Dilan, Lendale White
WR's: Harrison, Jurevicious, Kennison, dante hall and derrick mason
TE's: Antonio Gates, Zach Hilton
K's: Vinateiri and Tynes
Def's: Bears and Baltimore
individual defensive players: champ, Clements, g wilson, ty law and pacman jones Julius Peppers, Ray Lewis, Mario Williams and good ole Rocky as a homer pick
QB - If McNabb stays healthy, he could have a decent season if his unreliable and unproven receivers don't drop too many balls. The Eagles will have to throw a lot though, since they have NO RBs. Vick is overrated but if probably your better play here. He makes a lot of mistakes but he hurts his real team more than his fantasy teams with them. I'd start Vick.
QB Grade = B
RB - Larry Johnson, one of the best obviously. Dillon won't play the full season and will probably retire from injuries after the year. Lendale White is not the #1 back for his team. You need some help, I'd probably trade or drop Dillon for a better back since Maroney will overtake him this year. I'd reserve White incase he takes over.
RB Grade = C
WR - AMAZING group of WRs. This is probably the best WR group in your league. If you get returner points, start Hall every week. All of them are great fantasy WRs.
WR Grade = A
TE - Gates is the best, Hilton will be fine for Gates' bye week. You may even want to consider dropping Hilton for another RB and just pick someone up for Gates' off week. There's no real need to carry a 2nd TE when you have the best TE in the NFL.
TE Grade = A
K - Good kickers. With Vin's questionable health, I'd hang onto Tynes (a great fantasy kicker himself) until after Adam proves he's healthy. After the Colts' bye week, I'd drop Tynes since carrying 2 kickers limits your other positions. If Vin is not healthy at that point of the season, drop or trade him after KC's bye week and keep Tynes for the remainder of the year.
K Grade = A
Defense - Bears are the best, Baltimore is a great backup D and could be most teams' #1 D.
Defense Grade = A
IDPs - Good players for fantasy. Ray Lewis could be good trade bait because of his name if you want to upgrade another position. Pacman Jones was just arrested for disorderly conduct and being drunk while fighting with a woman outside of a rap "concert". You should probably dump him for someone who won't possibly be suspended. Look for someone like Donny Edwards of SD.
IDP Grade = B
Overall grade = B+
That Guy 08-25-2006, 01:30 PM I disagree with buster. there's no good reason to start vick over mcnabb unless vick is playing the 49ers and mcnabb is playing the panthers. mcnabb is 10 extra TDs. dillon is good and he'll probably have another 10 tds. more depth is needed though.
at WR, hall and harrison are every day players, and mason might be, but kennison is due for a drop off with all the change in KC. Its a decent group, but not like my team with steve smith AND TO ;)
and i don't know how anyone could rate your IDPs as a B. jones and williams should probably be moved, but the starters make it an A.
724Skinsfan 08-25-2006, 01:48 PM How many teams are in this league? That's a good way to gauge whether you have a good draft. This looks like a 12 man league draft. If so, I give you a "B". You have a lot of proven veterans, which I think is good. I agree that I would drop Hilton for RB depth.
If this is a 14 team league = A
10 man league = C
