betts for the broncos DB foxworth, he is a pretty solid corner and is very young

The Broncos would not trade Foxworth for Betts. They like Foxworth and why trade for a back when they seem to be able to take undrafted rookie free agents and make them into superstars. I just can't see it in the cards.

I wouldn't mind seeing us trade Betts for a draft pick, young depth along the O-line, or a different young corner.

I was going to say Taylor Jacobs for a case of Yoo-Hoo, but he's already gone.

With the addition of Duckett, I don't necessarily see Betts or Cartwright going anywhere, as they are 2 big ST players.

And most solid teams build through draft picks. the Skins have a tendency to trade them away. I'd like to see some of the fringe guys go for 3rd and 4th rounders.

I would like to keep all, I think with the rotation we have now we are built for a very long season. However, trade talk is in my head too. I doubt we could trade for Fabian Washington who is out of Nebraska and was my favorite CB from '05. I dont think the Football Gods favor me that much. Since our CB are so physical each one could be a liability b/c they bang so much. OL depth is a factor too. Or do we consider draft picks for next year.
I am going to examine the fact we have draft picks for next year I say can be invested in OL. So by default I would say since Springs is getting older why not go for a CB. I think the guys we brought in this year are going to work out but we need another franchise CB to mold and raise ourselves.

Thats my long answer Trade Betts for CB.
Raiders need a HB but Betts would be a lateral improvement with Jordan.
Colts lost Mungro...But they still have Rhoades/ Addai.

One thing is for sure, if there is a way there is a Joe Gibbs getting his guy.

betts is NOT going to get you a starting CB. period. unless we threw in a 1st and a 3rd with betts, there's no way we're getting fabian or foxworth.

the best move would be betts for an OL backup, but then we may need to draft a RB since duckett is nothing more than a rent-a-player and was a bad deal for one year. I kinda wish they had gotten an extension done with him.

You're absolutely right, it will prove to be a bad deal in the long run because I just can't see giving a 3rd round draft choice for a back up player who perhaps has only months with the team. Some reports have even higher draft choices being considered. Duckett is only twenty-five years old about to sign only his second contract, based on his production he can command bucks on the market; Bucks we don't have or are not willing to spend for a back-up running back. It's not likely we'll pay Portis and Duckett. So the question becomes is the sum greater than the parts, and would he be willing to play a minimal role as back-up when he could be a featured back for another team making more money as well. These are things I would like to know before I pull the strings on a trade. Without these questions being answered beforehand, there's no way I make the deal, I just don't think in the long run it would be worth it. I'm beginning to think our FO has a clone in the person of George Allen.

do we really have cap room for buchanon or harris? and the bigger question is, do we really want either of these over priced bums? i could see trading for a steady veteran like troy vincent

i just wish i could hear a real explanation behind it and the long term plans there. I mean, portis is going to count something like 7mill against the cap next year, and we're not going to pay 3mill+ a year for our backup on top of that.
