Bring back Stephen Davissuperskins 08-22-2006, 12:51 PM Carolina is GOING to cut him?!?! Where have you ben? That's really bad. freddyg12 08-22-2006, 01:08 PM I think the answer is fairly simple ... he does not want to play here. Seems he does according to the WP: washingtonpost.com (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/21/AR2006082101550.html) Davis in the Market Former Redskins running back Stephen Davis, a free agent who has suffered through serious injuries in recent years, is shopping his services around the NFL and contacted the Redskins, team officials said. Washington expressed no immediate interest, and he visited Philadelphia yesterday. Davis, once the franchise's single-season rushing leader, was released by Carolina in the offseason and was expected by some to retire. The Redskins appear comfortable with their running backs, and signed rookie free agent A.J. Harris last week. freddyg12 08-22-2006, 01:13 PM 12 Rushing TDs last year and zero fumbles lost? A liabillity? 1444 yards rushing; 14 TDs; and zero fumbles lost in 2003? A liability? Not sure I see any support for that statement. He lost AT LEAST 1 fumble in 2003, cause he fumbled & lost one against us. We then drove the ball to the 1 & then Rock fumbled so it evened out. He has a history of fumbling, which he never got under control. I like SD & would be glad to see him back, but I think Gibbs' main concern would be his fumbling, in addition to his age, health. Skinsfanatic 08-22-2006, 01:41 PM If we were really looking for another back, go all out and make a trade for Duckett (they are looking for a pick, and we give those away anyways). That being said, we will be fine. rstone1979 08-22-2006, 02:05 PM Why not bring them all back Heath Shuler, Michael Westbrook, and Steven Davis. I smell Super Bowl. Then let them all fight it out in practice gibbsisgod 08-22-2006, 02:27 PM If we were really looking for another back, go all out and make a trade for Duckett (they are looking for a pick, and we give those away anyways). That being said, we will be fine.shame on you for suggesting we trade away another draft pick. we will need all of them come next april. we have alot of guys who are getting up there in age and we need to draft for the future instaed of relying on FA every year to fill our needs. GoSkins! 08-22-2006, 02:41 PM Whatever interest there was before may be gone now that they watched Sellars run the ball. To me, that was a nice bright spot in a black sky of poor execution. 323Redskin 08-22-2006, 04:48 PM I think there are greater needs that should be addressed first(such as our kicking game) before even considering the return of #48. 4mrusmc 08-22-2006, 09:00 PM Three words guys: Mike Sellers (Meast) |
