I like Ladell, he's a great backup. That being said, I really don't think he's a No. 1 back b/c of his injury history. The Skins radio show said early contract extension talks have been started with him. If Danny can swing it, we need to extend his contract now because at the end of the season he'll Antonio Pierce us.

Defintley somthing to think about, I'm glad they are giving him talks now instead of waiting on it. Realistically there'd be some interest in him, but nothing that I think would shake the earth.

We need to lock him in, it was discussed the other day on the nightly news and you can tell he has an agent who is whispering dollars signs in his ear. Betts stay in town, finish your career here and you can achieve what so many guys in the NFL never acquire and thats respect for the home team.

I love Ladell Betts. But from a cap standpoint, I'm not sure if giving him a long term deal is the best idea. I guess if he really wants to stay here, we should make it happen. But if he thinks he's worth starter money, we could replace him cheaply with a 3rd-4th round draft pick. I think the ball is in his court right now. How bad does he want to be a Washington Redskin?

Betts seems he is gonna test the market. I saw the same response when asked in camp from Champ, Smoot, now Betts see his leverage and I be suprised if we could talk him into building with us when a fortune that could provide his entire ffamilies future waits just on the other side.

I think it would be a huge setback for our offense loosing him to FA but who knows that open spot could emerge a spot for a new talent but the odds of getting and finding a guy who can step up like Betts is kinda slim.

i like betts but come on, how much money should the skins really spend on a career back up? if his agent is whispering sweet nothing in his ear about how great he is, he is probably gone

Give him a good contract now, then feel free to get our money's worth right now. I think Betts will see more time than ever on the field this year, provided he's healthier than he has been. Saunders uses two back sets a lot, sometimes the other back will be Sellers, some sets will probably have Betts. I know Clinton is a stud, but every one can use some relief once in a while, especially with how hard he plays. You need two trustworthy RB's as much as QB's. I would be fine with him starting the Minnesota game.

Sorry but if I'm Betts I want to test the market and look for a starting gig.

in my opinion, dockery is much more valuable to the redskins. the longer an offensive line sticks together, the better they perform
