Would you trade Patten for depth?

At this point all my worries are on pause. I believe adding as many DB who are veterans and letting them get G William-nized will show a turnaround in their performance bottom line well be fine on that side of the ball. They have until week 6 unless the "unmentioned catastrophy" happens to the OLine I say we move forward with him. and be confident we are coming to the knife fight with uzi's and nuke bombs on offense.

Odd as it sounds maybe even trade him for a QB. Brunell will surely retire next year, Collins may not have what it takes and he is aged as well though he still looks like a 12 yr old. After that we have Bramlet- who at camp looked too undersized and incapable of NFL demands. This team will need to start over and find competition or relief at that position.

No, but I still think that Espy is the real deal, as for the other training camp "heros" we never saw anything from them during the games, all we ever heard was how good of a practice they had. With Espy you hear teammates talk about him practicing and you seen it in the game against Cincinnati. He wasnt afraid to go across the middle and he cought just about everything that went his way, unlike Farris who was hit in the hands by a beautiful pass from JC...

Ive been to camp, seen the games so far this year. I have to say I have been impressed with Espy but I dont believe he has shown anything against any starting Defense/ secondary. Is that correct? Hey if he wants to emerge and contribute Im all for it but I havent been sold completely yet.

Patten for a backup RB?
" for an OL
" for a CB
" for a QB

Next years draft will be vital to holding this team together.

Next years draft will be vital to holding this team together.I think you are right. This is the reason that I was a bit worried when we dealt the second for McIntosh.

In retrospect, we were probably looking at both D'Qwell Jackson and McIntosh, and as soon as one went, pulled the trigger for the other.

If you trade Patten you risk playing a "Jimmy Farris" during the season. The lack of WR weapons definitely hurt us down the stretch.

You would be robbing Peter to pay Paul...

D'Qwell Jackson = Future star. Just like Merriman only a lttle less out of the gate Jackson may need a year.

Most of these guys are signed through next year. The draft has been a stopgap for several years now. Why would next year be any different?
