Excellent. I knew it would be you or TAFKAS who got it.
Jets interested in Betts?TheMalcolmConnection 08-11-2006, 12:57 PM Excellent. I knew it would be you or TAFKAS who got it. BigSKINBauer 08-11-2006, 12:58 PM You have to really see jesse in action to understand why there is all that hype around him. I think that he is worth a shot. I can't wait to see him against real competition this weekend. I am most looking forward to looking at him and andre on Sunday. I was really upset to see jesse out yesterday. I didn't hear what the problem with him was, will he be ready on Sunday? TheMalcolmConnection 08-11-2006, 01:00 PM What I don't like is having good players getting to play with scrubs in the second or third string. If he's really good, I'd love to see him play with the first string a little bit. BSB, I heard he has a hip injury, should be back today. illdefined 08-11-2006, 01:02 PM Too bad we couldn't have shafted them for Kevin Mawae for a season or two. exactly. or Abraham before. hope the new coach doesn't ruin our nice player acquistion relationship we have with them. diehardskin2982 08-11-2006, 01:05 PM I would trade him for a second and a conditional third based on how he preformed. He is great for our team but he can be even better as trade bait. Imagine the possibilties if they have a horrible season and they end up with the first pick overall, we automaticly get the 1st pick of the second round. Especially if a kid like adrian peterson falls to the second because of injury or something we can get a chance at him. If betts wants the opportunity, I say let him have it. GTripp0012 08-11-2006, 01:49 PM This reminds me a lot of the Ramsey situation last year. One difference is Betts is in the final year of his deal, and likely will not resign. The other difference is that I feel far more comfortable with Rock Cartwright starting at RB for a week than I would have felt if Jason Campbell had to play the must win game vs. the Giants. I guess this could be a good way for Lumsden to become a big part of the team. With all that said, I would only deal him for a 2nd rounder or better, and only because the Jets 2nd rounder figures to be so high. diehardskin2982 08-11-2006, 01:52 PM the only difference in this and the ramsey situation is we aren't looking to trade Betts, so we are in the position of power. while the ramsey trade we were getting shafted offiss 08-11-2006, 03:22 PM How about I just light your Country Music Award on fire instead? lol, funny movie! BDBohnzie 08-11-2006, 03:27 PM Sunshine on my god damn shoulders John Denver! Betts isn't going anywhere, case closed. ArtMonkDrillz 08-11-2006, 03:36 PM I hate to break up this like-fest, but this is from sports illustrated's truth and rumors section: The Jets continue monitoring running backs around the league. The latest indications out of Denver are that Ron Dayne would be easier to pry from the Broncos than Tatum Bell. -- Newsday Here's the link SI.com - Scorecard Daily - NFL Truth & Rumors: Aug. 11 - Friday August 11, 2006 11:15AM (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/scorecard/08/11/truth.rumors.nfl/index.html) EDIT: the next one, that I hadn't read yet, was the one about Betts |
