The sporting news: coles over santanabertoskins2 08-08-2006, 01:30 AM the new issue of The sporting news scouting guide ranks Laveranues coles (11) ahead of Santana moss (12) I cannot stand this, this is ridiculous steveo395 08-08-2006, 01:31 AM well its good thing you posted this twice but is this overall rankings or fantasy rankings?...but i guess it really doesnt matter because moss beats him in both VishsSkins 08-08-2006, 01:33 AM Are you joking me? I dont think this can be possible. Even the likes of Dr. Z and Peter King would have a hard time ranking coles over moss after the seasons both of them had last year. SmootSmack 08-08-2006, 01:46 AM I deleted your other thread about this. Anyway, I think PFW's scouting guide also has Coles over Santana. They also have Jimmy Smith, the retired Jimmy Smith, over Santana. And they have Curtis Martin at #7 at RB, and Larry Johnson at #11. I don't think these are fantasy rankings per se, but still. The criteria was overall career performance, 2005 performance, and career potential. LJ easily takes two of three of those. mooby 08-08-2006, 03:28 AM Maybe they were picking names out of a hat. Luxorreb 08-08-2006, 05:09 AM Moss has single season receiving yards record for the Washington Redskins Coles doesn't. End of f'n story. Maybe Peter King's influence? hahahahhahha. dmek25 08-08-2006, 08:18 AM i know a ton of hard core football fans and not one of them would pick coles over moss in any category. but i dont talk bad about coles. played his heart out while here. and things worked out better for the skins ArtMonkDrillz 08-08-2006, 08:57 AM My only guess is that these people may see Santana's '05 season as a bit of a fluke, which is crap. Plus, even if you make the arguement that Coles is a better individual player you have to remember that the WR can't throw himself the ball. The jets have an o-line with 2 rookies and a qb with a perma-seperated shoulder. So unless Coles can break every 3yrd out pattern for 80 yards I'll stick with Santana. 724Skinsfan 08-08-2006, 09:17 AM "Okay Yakko, job is make big list of football players. I think NFL. If done quickly, you get shiny penny!" BrudLee 08-08-2006, 11:04 AM Right now, the only place Coles comes in ahead of Moss is the dictionary. Not only does Washington have a more dynamic offense, but (surprisingly) they have a more stable QB picture. This shouldn't even be close. |
