I was just on the Redskins site and I noticed that we picked up Jafar Williams from the University of Maryland.I know that all you fans from out of the area probably dont know who he is but I have seen him make some pretty damn good plays at the U of M.He is 6'2 210 with good hands and decent speed.Im not saying that he is a one or two reciever but put him in the slot and I think he could cause some match up problems.Anyone else from the area care to confirm this. You are also welcome to tell me that I am totally out of my mind.Maybe I am just being bias to a guy who went to the same college I did.
I never graduated but I did go there for a little while. Not that that matters, just wanted to clarify.

I dont know anythign about it but my guess is he atleast earned a spot to try out but it wont go much farther than that. We have a ton of receivers and even if he is a huge talent, we just dont have teh room and time to give him a chance.

I'm with Skins. We're shoulder deep in talent at receiver. You gotta work hard to get a spot!
The rooster? Are you on a farm or something? And how can a bird tell you who's on the 'Skins? Must be a 'Skins fan, LOL

Any UDFA receivers who sign n with the Redskins are doing it for training camp experience, and to learn. Contractually, Coles, Gardner, McCants, Thrash, and Jacobs are locks or near locks to make the roster. The signing bonuses for the players - coupled with their skills - make them likely contributors. Since other camp invitees (Cloman, Scott) have used up their practice squad eligibility, any UDFA's would have to be stellar to be considered for a roster spot.
Williams is likely hoping for practice squad time, and would rather try to get it close to home. I know he has some skills, but they won't be enough this year.

Gonna be Dang hard to beat out others who are visciously hungry like Cloman when talking about that 5 and/or 6th spot..

love them hogs: no problem! That was one of the great typos of recent memory. So long as you love the skins, spell 'em any way you want! :party-smi
