Is anyone worried that the Giants might pick up Jason Gildon or Trotter after the 6/1 cuts??? I could see it happening because they still have no real star linebackers or players on D except Strahan and maybe Emmons.

Gildon is 32 and his best days are behind him. As for Trotter we've seen what he's capable of here for the last two years, so what would we be afraid of?

I hope the Giants sign these two and get stuck with them.

I think that you guys are seriously underestimating Gildon, the guy can still play as well as any linebacker in the league. And hes a sack master. Hes old and on the decline but hes not done. Trotter can get to the QB to if hes in a system that lets him blitz. I hope they dont sign either one. I dont think they really have the money but I dont want either one of them in NY. Didnt they sign Carlos Emmons anyways? Having him fills a big void for them

Jason Gildon used to be one of the 5 best LBs in the NFL. Those days are in the past and aren't coming back because he can't run nearly as fast has he used to.

Redskin fans need to come to grips with what Jeremiah Trotter is. He is a good but not nearly great inside linebacker. Philly replaced him perfectly adequately and Trotter did exactly nothing to lead the skins to glory. If he goes to NY, the skins will replace him perfectly adequately and he will do exactly nothing to lead the Giants to glory.

Skins' fans have to get over the exhilaration that they signed away the franchise player from a Division rival and how great an achievement that was. It was no big deal!

are u serious???? Simmeau or however you spell it is far from an adequate replacement for Trotter. He might be the worst starting MLB in the league. I would rather Kevin Mitchell or Cris Clemmons start over him. Trotter played very well for us until his injury. Last year he was still rehabing it for most of the year and still was very solid at MLB. He was a monster in Philly with a solid line and now that he is back at full strenghth I think he will return to that same status. Also, much like Kevin Greene when he left the Steelers and went to the Panthers, Gildon has at least 3-5 good years left in him. Anyone that is doubting Gildon that praising the signing of Barrow would be hypocritical. Both of these players are at the same type of point in their careers.

We didn't use Trotter correctly. He's not your stereotypical MLB, he's a blitzer, you send him up the middle. If someone can use him in the correct scheme, he will have plenty of great years to come.

Regardless as to how well these 2 LB's play they won't make a difference for the NY Giants. They won't be a good team next year, they're going to start Eli. It doesn't matter who they put on defense they're going to struggle. They're going nowhere fast.
