First Ballot Hall of Famersgibbsisgod 07-21-2006, 10:57 PM Sapp or Strahan? I was trying to think of DL and thats who I come up with.maybe eventually but not first ballot. i can see strahan getting in first ballot with 2 or 3 more good seasons but not as it stands now 724Skinsfan 07-21-2006, 11:05 PM How about Tony Gonzalez? Warren Sapp Michael Strahan Junior Seau (he may actually be retired now) Drew Bledsoe Simeon Rice TO? Randy Moss? I can't remember offensive linemen. 724Skinsfan 07-21-2006, 11:07 PM I think Strahan is a first ballot. Don't forget Strahan has the single season sack record (wink, wink) and the power of Peter King. steveo395 07-21-2006, 11:37 PM Taylor Jacobs SmootSmack 07-21-2006, 11:39 PM Taylor Jacobs Well that goes without saying. Tell us something we don't know steveo GTripp0012 07-22-2006, 12:38 AM Hmm. First ballot is a lofty achievement. Favre Martin Faulk Manning Brady Lewis Strahan Rodney Harrison Tony Gonzalez Adam Vinatieri (I wouldn't vote him in. But Peter King would.) Simeon Rice Derrick Brooks Brian Urlacher John Lynch Will Shields Walter Jones Torry Holt I may have missed/stretched a few, but thats my list. MTK 07-22-2006, 12:45 AM What active players do you think, if their careers ended today, would be first ballot Hall of Famers? Off the top of my head I'd say: Brett Favre Peyton Manning Tom Brady (wavered a lot on Brady and Manning) Ray Lewis Marvin Harrison I know there must be more. What do you guys think? Brett Favre Peyton Manning Tom Brady Ray Lewis Marvin Harrison I would say these guys above are all first ballot locks. I would also add Faulk, Martin, and Bettis. Not sure if they all will go first ballot, but if I was voting I would put them in. MTK 07-22-2006, 12:48 AM Hmm. The only one here I have a problem with is Rice. I can't say he's a first ballot guy, he'll probably crack the top 10 for all-time sacks, but even then he doesn't strike me as a first ballot player. That Guy 07-22-2006, 09:09 AM bledsoe as a first ballot? i don't think so. he has numbers but he's not a winner or even great. he's just above average and had good luck staying healthy enough to keep playing. roaf and shields... if 11 time pro bowlers don't get in, then who does? brady manning (if he wins one) lewis gates moss (randy - if he can get back on track) dmek25 07-22-2006, 10:25 AM no way to sapp but a big maybe to strahan. been doing his thing for a long time now. d linemen usually dont last but maybe 4 or 5 years. |
