That Guy

no way gibbs even considered this guy. he passed on randy moss when he had the chance (and TO) and both are PROVEN studs at a position that's harder to stock.

No one was going to waste a 2nd on him, and i think a 3rd might be too much.

marvin liked his thug crew in baltimore, and now he's working on his new gang in big cinncy :P

To Brooks credit, he has passed like 5 drug tests in the past 10 weeks. I kind of hope he makes it in the NFL. Nothing disappoints me more than wasted talent. It makes you feel good when read about someone waking up one day and taking charge of their life. Not saying he has yet, but let's wait and see.

Didn't know that, but that is good for him. I am gonna root for him either way because he went to UVa, but again as 724 said, we will see.

Brooks did not commit any crimes, beside using drugs. He hasn't killed anyone, etc, so I feel Lewis is not even a close comparision.

Well how many people did Ray Lewis kill before he was drafted?

How many times did Lewis fail a drug test in college?

Was Lewis ever kicked off his college team?

Your probably right about the comparison this kid has the potential for so much more.:pimp:

Ok so let me get this straight. Since Lewis did not really do any of those before he was drafted, and because Brooks did fail drugs tests and got kicked of his team, he will be "much more" than Lewis? You are implying that using weed and his issues with the team, will cause him to worst than Lewis, which would mean Brooks could be worst than a murderer. The main prob with Brooks is that he loves the reefer; how in the world is that gonna make him kill someone? You can not seriously sit here and tell me smoking weed makes you a thug and commit crimes, because that is untrue. Ricky smokes weed, has he killed anyone?

Weed doesn't do anything that will make you commit crimes, it just makes you a pothead, which is far from a killer. I never said he would successful in the league, I just think he is a good player, and if he lays off the pipe he could be good in the NFL, but that is a big if.

Again, Lewis is terrible comparision for Brooks, unless you seriously believe weed is some kind of gateway to worst things. If you seriously think that, then you need to stop watching government anti-drug commericals lol.

I have seen some really idiotic points in this thread.

Bottom line, they got an All-American linebacker with a third round draft choice. I don't want to hear any Redskins fan talk about taking a guy too high when we throw away 2nd and 3rd round draft picks like they are candy wrappers.

What the hell was the comparison to Ray Lewis? Ray Lewis is arguably one of the greatest middle linebackers in the history of the NFL.

I am not saying Ray Lewis isn't a good linebacker, it is the negative aspect of him that was brought up as a comparision.

As opposed to pro drug commercials?

I really think you have missed the point completly and that is the comparison is that of a problem player, and his resume coming into the NFL is worse than Lewis's when he was drafted, what the actual outcome of his charector will turn out who know's for sure, but I will leave that to all the weed smoking geniuses out there.

You can not seriously sit here and tell me smoking weed makes you a thug and commit crimes, because that is untrue. Ricky smokes weed, has he killed anyone?

His contract was killing the dolphins.

Isn't pot smoking in itself a crime? Or is it just the purchasing of the product that's illegal?

Either way I am sure there are plenty of examples of individuals who do drugs regardless of the type, who are criminals.

I wonder if Chris Henry smokes pot?

I will say that I am absolutly sure that I don't know that Brooks will committ a murder, and I hope he never does. But then again C. Henry may never committ murder either, that doesn't mean he's not a serious problem to his team. Past history has a way of following individuals, I hope for his sake it doesn't, but when you hand big money to a problem player it sometimes can be like throwing gasoline on a fire, lets hope his problems are all in the past and stay there for his sake as an indivdual not just a football player.

Well said 724. I hope he turns it around. Better for everyone really.

But I am glad Dallas did not draft him....
