I alway's liked AA, he's a big play type of saftey, we have to trust Williams eye for defensive talent that AA will be a significant upgrade over Clark.

Systems many times make the player as well as the technique that they are asked to play on defense, I believe Williams already knows how to use AA and which coverage techniques will best fit his attributes, players always seem to be much better in Williams defense than others, kind of like the old 9er's QB's everyone looked great in thier system, Same thing with Gibbs back in the day he was able to make a run of the mill QB look and play like an all pro, yet these players very rarely did much outside of those systems. Once Lovey Smith left the Rams thier defense went downhill AA still was able to shine. We will no very quickly if he was worth the money compartivly to the production Clark would have brought to the table? I liked Clark a lot but Williams must have seen something significantly better in AA to pay that kind of money and let Clark go. I believe he's right!

This article sucks. Ben Roethlisburger is not the most overrated player on the Steelers, Willie Green is. Or Joey Porter. Every other player he named as overrated seems to be a safety that isn't great in coverage, even strong safeties. And if Trent Green is underrated, I guess he deserves an MVP because hes been to the pro bowl.

I also think that while he was a beast in college, Roy Williams owes Patrick Ramsey some credit for where he is today. He made P-ram look like a fool every time they played.

i think he meant willie parker, but I hardly believe that ben rothlisburger is overrated, the last time we had a young rookie qb that played as well as rothlisburger i believe his name was tom brady and look at him now.

I think Big Ben is a bit overrated, he fell into a great system in which he did not have to throw many completions, and therefore less interceptions. But he did come up when he needed to. We will see if Ben is for real real next season as his pass attempts will increase significantly.

why change to a pass happy offense if what you've got is still working? tommy maddox was total crap in the same system.

You know,

No way Roy makes it as a LB in the 3/4. Too Small. Roy has a good first step and good instincts and he is a Big time Hitter. He isn't an instinctive Coverage Strong Safety.

BUT...

If we look at the Roy Williams who had Darren Woodson playing FS and the Roy Williams who had Keith Davis playing FS I think there is a difference. Davis is a first time starter and Roy didn't have the luxury of a quality FS to work with.

I want to see how Mr Polamalu does this year without Chris Hope at FS.
