2.) Why did Vinny fire scouts Cary Conklin & Marcus Dupree?
My theory: Perhaps Cary Conklin & Marcus Dupree (either or both of them) had botched the signing of Jarrell Weaver from Miami U, a potential hidden gem of prototype free safety and top gun special team playmaker. --- First, Jarrell Weaver agreed to come to the Redskins camp as an UDFA, then on the next day he was stolen by the Jets.
Herman Edwards plans to convert Jarrell Weaver into free safety ala Sean Taylor or at the very least a top gun special team playmaker.
3.) From jets.com: S Jarrell Weaver (Miami)
Weaver (6-3, 217) was a collegiate linebacker for the Miami Hurricanes, serving as a top special teams player and back-up strong side linebacker during his undergraduate career.
Weaver earned the distinction as the fastest Miami player in the 40-yard dash in 2003, posting a blazing 4.26 effort. Was the Miami special teams player of the year in 2003 and registered 65 career tackles on defense, five-and-a-half tackles for losses and a sack.
4.) Linebacker and special teams standout Jarrell Weaver has been invited to minicamp with the Washington Redskins.
