I thought it was a good call to help keep the game under control. Had he not booted him, there's no doubt Pittman would have been looking for him and things would have only escalated. Things were already getting heated before the spitting incident.you are right. had taylor not been ejected that was a brawl waiting to happen
allthough, one tends to think that pittman wouldn't have hit taylor being that he is not a woman!

I still insist that spitting is no big deal. But I'll admit I've been beaten repeatedly by you guys while trying to make that argument. Plus the Skins ended up winning so it was all good.
In the end I like Mike Carey a lot. Good ref. Beats Phil Luckett any day.

I thought NFL Films went out of their way to glorify the job that Mike Carey did. However, it was at least deserved because the game was so well officiated. I was going to make a thread about this, but it looks like someone beat me to the punch.

Hocculi (sp?) looks like he could PLAY football! Dude must work out 8 hours a day or something. I am use to seeing scrawny refs out there but he is a big guy.

I do think that Taylor should have been ejected for spitting, however, I think that Pittman needed to go too. I always thought the rules said that if you are caught throwing a punch you get ejected regardless of why you did it, and Carey obviously saw Pittman take a swing.
On a sidenote, did anyone else happen to see the Ravens in Detriot last year? Carey ejected 2 different Ravens and I really thought he was going to start swinging on Suggs, which probably would have been one of the worse ideas ever. That game was a classic because of how bad the ravens collapsed.

Hocculi Fact #1: Ed Hocculi was never allowed to actually play football because it is rumored that a Hocculi stiff-arm is considered a lethal weapon.

I remember watching it the first time a few months ago and I love how we dominated at the line. THe d-line was amazing and it shows how much their tipped passes did in that game. I love how balls were being aired out due to them simms being scared they would be tipped. I also loved the hit portis put on quarls.

That game was a train wreck to watch. I remember feeling sorry for the Ravens at first, because it seemed like the officiating crew was daring them to even breathe hard. Then they show dumbass Brian Billick perpetuating the same sloppy, disrespectful behavior that his team was displaying, and I was like "Screw it, toss the whole team".
I'm still shocked that an NFL franchise acted the way the Ravens did that day.
