I say Carlos Rogers needs to step up, and I expect him to.

I'll echo what TMC said. Holdman, because he was SOOO bad last year he's got the most room for improvement.

I think Patten will have a better year, but I just don't see him being better than a number 3 or 4 for us........whereas Holdman should be a starter at the beginning of the year.

Holdman is my pick. Not that it means anything, but Holdman has been playing GREAT on my Madden franchise. :D

Hall NEEDS a comaback year though...we need a kicker who can actually kick. He probably needs the comeback year more than any of the list of choices, but I'm not sure that will happen.

BSB - do you mean Patten will be a good 4th receiver? He's #4 on the list unless he has an amazing and unexpected preseason.

holdman, if all goes well, will NOT be a starter, neither will patten (who really wasn't that bad last year pre-injury).

it's gotta be hall. he's still an actual starter, he's been terrible, and now (we think) he's had the surgery to fix his problems for good. being able to make 40+ yard FGs again would be huge.

patten and holdman should both be better (patten will get #3 and 4 CBs and holdman couldn't be worse), but both will be bit players instead of starters. A permanent demotion kinda hurts your comeback chances in my book.

I'd disagree. If Patten becomes a starter, I think all will be going extremely well. Everybody, EVERYBODY is forgetting what he did in New England. I can see him come ROARING back this year.

I mean what in Brandon Lloyd's history, or Antwaan Randle-El's history, makes any of us think that they are by far and away better than David Patten? Because they're young and up-and-coming?

I think a healthy Patten is just as good as ARE, except ARE can return punts and throw the ball. But strictly as a receiver, I can see Patten having a big year, and I won't be the least bit surprised if he earns the #2 job. Of course, I won't be the least bit surprised if he earns the #4 either. We have one excellent WR and 3 above average WRs in my opinion. I can't differentiate between Patten and the others at this point, they're all equals in my book. I'm not going to let one injury-plagued season in a brand new offense be the basis for my opinion on David Patten. I'm giving him a chance this year.

As for Holdman, I just don't think he's going to keep Rocky out of the lineup. "I've seen him do some things this week that no linebacker has done since I've been here." - Gregg Williams on Rocky, the week before minicamp. Holdman coming back strong is great and all, but in the end, Rocky is going to learn the system and once he does, his athleticism will take over.

As stated earlier: aside from Hall, who I have never had much confidence in, the others are not starters. They could fill in great in their limited roles and their stats would not be much. Andre Carter however is a delegated starting DE. Not that he has been horrible the last couple years, but if Carter can return to 2002 form... well I think that would be the best comeback player we can hope for.

Yeah, Arch is another one who needs to make a comeback in his own right. Lock up my vote for him. He's gonna be huge this year.

I picked Frost. I don't know if he'll even be on the team, or if we'll ever need to punt with the WRs we, but I think he has to be better than last year.

He IS going to be huge this year, but I don't think he'd qualify as a comeback player.

In his 13 games he played last year, he had 70 tackles, 3.5 sacks as a safety and an interception return for an 85-yard TD. Pretty good if you ask me.

Of course, I bet he's shooting for a full schedule this year.
