He is playing for the minimum base salary in 2006, but the way Washington Redskins (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=was)' linebacker Warrick Holdman (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=4756) sees things, he owes the franchise a maximum effort after a disappointing 2005 campaign.

Could he be this year's Brunell?

I don't know, all i know is G.W. wanted him back, and everyone thinks last year was an abberation. I think he quite possibly could be this season's Brunell.
Sounds like he's hungry and determined to prove everyone wrong. Gotta like his attitude.

Lets all hope that he is for real this year. Last year was a big disappointment. He certainly can do better. I think we are going to see a different player.

His confidence is definently boosting mine. WLB and QB are my ONLY worries. The more I hear about Holdman's determination, Rocky's smarts, and Campbell's progression.. things are looking great. I think I'm gonna bet the bank @ sportsbook on the Skins getting division.!

i really think he was in a tough position last season with lavar saying that he should be starting. indirectly that is like a slap in the face to holdman because he WAS starting.expect big things from him this year, but in a limited role because of rocky mcintosh.i dont think he makes the probowl but he provides great depth because he has been in the scheme for a couple of seasons now.

Could he be this year's Brunell? No, but only because he can't impact the defensive side of the ball like Brunell impacts the offensive side. With one more year in the system, I would expect him to make significant improvement over last year. That is until he loses his job to Rocky 7 weeks in.

All I mean is can he have a big rebound year similar to what Brunell had last year.

I think he can. He's never had the "superstar" numbers or performance like Lavar Arrington did at the peak of his career. Holdman has only 1 INT and 4 sacks in his career, so he's never been that "big play" LB. His tackle numbers when he's played a full season are solid, and I think he has great potential for being an eight year veteran.
The real key is G.W. - he seems to bring out he best in players who are willing to work hard and fight their way back.
