Can someone tell me where the "I am a soldier" quote came from? Seen it attributed to KW in a couple of places (including the extremeskins video) but never seen the context in which KWII said it. It sounds fairly assinine and I just wanted to see if it was as bad as it looks. Just curious.

Against Tennessee, he layed someone out with a block and then taunted them for it. After the game, he said he was being singled out by the officials and offered the following nugget of wisdom:
"It's war," Winslow said Saturday, his voice raised in the locker room. "They're out there to kill you, so I'm out there to kill them. We don't care about anybody but this U. They're going after my legs. I'm going to come right back at them. I'm a ... soldier."

Thanks BB. I thought it was related to the draft. Not quite as assinine as I originally thought, but still a little extreme.

Taken alone, no it's not that extreme. But when viewed in the context of hundreds of real soldiers, the kind that get killed, then it takes on a whole new level of absurdity.

Absolutely. Don't get me wrong - I thought the statement was originally related to his negotiations with the Browns which would have made it incredibly, incredibly moronic. Relating it to a game situation merely makes it incredibly moronic.

There is something I've wondered about the things Kw2 and the Postons say, in fact when ahteletes say anything stupid like this. Do they really believe the crap they say or is it just chest thumping stupity? Did KW2 really think the refs were out to get him? Or that football is a war? Does the Postons reallly think a TE can turn around and lead a team? Or that he deserves to be called the chosen one?
Surely these statements are a combination of testosterone and hoping to further his value. I mean they couldn't have deluded themselves into believing this crap right?

Hi-Jinx, I think, sadly, it's a combination of the two.
