I am a skins fan in ND but I do have some friends who are Viking fans and looking at their schedule they should win 11-12 games this year. That being said I think they win their division over the bears.

That being said I think they win their division over the bears. Wow. I'd say that the closest thing to a guarantee I can make is that the Vikings won't see the sunny side of .500 ball. A new coach with a new system, an aging QB, no dominant RBs or WRs - these are not the ingredients for a championship. The only belssing they have is they are playing in the weakest division in football - and with the NFC West still out there, that's saying something. paulskinsfan 06-21-2006, 09:14 AM Wow. The Vikings will be lucky to get over .500 this year for all the reasons you've stated. The Bears rule this division, the Vikes could be looking at a top 5 draft pick next year. mheisig 06-21-2006, 09:34 AM I think the original statement was that the NFC is better now than the AFC (hence, "The NFC will win the Super Bowl.") Is anyone forgetting about a few AFC teams who have won a game or two recently? The Colts, Steelers and Bengals are rock solid teams, Miami was going on a rampage the last half of last season, you can never count out the Patriots and from a simple talent standpoint you can't count out the Chargers, Chiefs and Broncos. The NFC has some great defenses and some great wide receivers, but the AFC seems stacked with QBs and RBs. I'm not making an argument one way or another really, just saying it seems a bit silly to just say the AFC is faltering or not competition anymore. mheisig 06-21-2006, 09:38 AM Oh, and last season 6 of the top 10 teams in total offense were AFC teams, and 5 of the top 7 were AFC teams. The AFC isn't about to roll over and die. Monkeydad 06-21-2006, 09:41 AM My picks for the NFC: 1. WAS 2. CAR 3. TB 4. NYG 5. CHI 6. SEA Oakland Red 06-21-2006, 11:30 AM 1. Washington - a team on the rise last year did the most to improve 2. Seattle - the losing the SB jinx is no reason to discount them. And I think that teams with a metropolitan area and fan base that are wildly enthusiastic and hungry for success really make a difference in motivation for a team. A dangerous team in my opinion. 3. Carolina - the NFC runner up has done a lot to improve. 4. Chicago - will likely win their division 5. Dallas - the addition of Owens adds a dimension to their offense that should propel them into the playoffs. 6. N.Y. Giants - the defending division champs look stronger than the rest for a wild card to me. ArtMonkDrillz 06-21-2006, 11:35 AM Agreed. Am I the only one that thinks the lions could finally be decent this year? With Mike Martz controlling their offense and Kitna at the helm of those receivers, I think their offense could finally be dangerous. Not as intense as the offensive explosion that will come out of our nation's capital though! gibbsisgod 06-21-2006, 11:42 AM and they don't have joey harrington to blame all of their problems on. steveo395 06-21-2006, 11:47 AM 1. Washington - don't really have to explain this one 2. Carolina - really good last year with only one threat on offense, now they got DeAngelo Williams and Keyshawn 3. Chicago - great defense, offense should improve with Griese (he'll start eventually), easy schedule, weak division 4. Arizona - They will barely win a weak division, they have a great offense, a good defense (ranked 8th last year), and seattle will fall apart Wild Card: 5. New York - Eli will improve, Barber will get worse because of his age, they're defense should improve (it was getting better at the end of last year until all of their linebackers got hurt) 6. Tampa Bay - Chris Simms showed he's good enough to lead the team last year and they still have a great defense Dallas won't make it because the rest of the division and conference is too good. One player can't help the team that much. They weren't even that good last year. Their o-line isn't that good. If Bledsoe gets hurt, they are completely screwed. |
