Skins Schedule.skinshomer 06-21-2006, 04:39 PM Don't forget though we had Oakland and San Diego at home last year and we lost both games. If we won one of those games we could have won the division. Beemnseven 06-21-2006, 06:09 PM Another scheduling quirk is that we have opened the season at home for 5 years in a row now. The last opening day the Skins were away was at San Diego in 2001. MightyJoeGibbs 06-22-2006, 04:26 AM I also think the skins have had top 5 hardest schedule for the past some odd years. Wheres are stat boy? on a side note recently i purchased nfl head coach, horrible game dont buy it. They rate Greg Williams as being a 57 overall rated defensively minded coach but said he is wonderful coaching the O line ??? Please boycott this game as I am returning it tomorrow out of principle and in truth and justice. Monkeydad 06-22-2006, 02:35 PM This year, from the sources I could find online, we have the 11th most difficult schedule. It's DEFINATELY easier then prior years. For some reason, I couldn't locate strength of schedule rankings for prior years except for 2003, where we had the 6th-most difficult. MTK 06-22-2006, 02:54 PM Another scheduling quirk is that we have opened the season at home for 5 years in a row now. The last opening day the Skins were away was at San Diego in 2001. I remember that one pretty clearly, Jeff George was awful and got an earful from Marty on the sideline. Good times. ArtMonkDrillz 06-22-2006, 08:52 PM I also think the skins have had top 5 hardest schedule for the past some odd years. Wheres are stat boy? The format for setting the schedule is very rigid, so really it's just a coincidence that we keep having to play the tougher teams all in the same year. On a side note, I feel like this is the first time in awhile that we're not playing philly in a primetime game. I guess they made up for that by giving us the cowboys and the giants in the big games. Oh well, it doesn't get more prime time than the Super Bowl. JoeRedskin 06-23-2006, 10:40 AM Although we have a short week after the opener, I just don't think we can complain too much. Back loaded divisional home games are sweet. Unlike Philly who has to play a monday night game 12/4, then three divisional road games in a row. Not that I am shedding any tears for them - but boy would I be upset if the stuck the Skins with that schedule. BMF21 06-24-2006, 03:03 AM Has anyone notice that for that past couple years the Redskins have always started the season with a short week. They have had their bye week like in week 3 or 4? I think that has made it harder to stay competitive down the stretch. This year it is during week 8 which I think is ideal. Shortly afterward in the middle to the end of the season will really be crunch time, there is a divisional, and nfc south stretch that could make or break the year. Also, I think Dallas has an easy schedule which could help make it nerve racking for the division. Still, Im saying the skins will go 13-3 or better. THATS TO MANY WINS.......WE WILL WIN 11 TIE WITH THE GIANTS AND WIN THE DIVISION.......THATS JUST MY OPINION GTripp0012 06-25-2006, 02:35 AM I think the schedule is favorable to an extent. I made the point awhile back that Phili really gets boned with three division games on the road in a row. They lose two of those on the scheduling alone. Basically, our road divisional games are spaced well and all early to mid season, so I really have no beef with the schedule. GTripp0012 06-25-2006, 02:46 AM Don't forget though we had Oakland and San Diego at home last year and we lost both games. If we won one of those games we could have won the division. No doubt. Should have won both. But since the outcome fueled the fire that massacred the Boys and G-men at home 3 weeks later, I'm very satisfied with the outcome. |
