Is it cheesy? yes. Are there crazy death/fight scenes? Yes. Are there stupid names? The main character is named Snake for God sake! That's classic 80's action nonsense right there!

Two classics that weren't mentioned yet were "Red Dawn" and I think the other title is "Clash of the Titans". You know, the one with Medusa and the mechanical owl.

damn I can't believe I forgot Clash of the Titans. good call.

I also gotta say what about The Killer, Hard Boiled, or Fist of the North Star(the animated version not the crappy live version)?

There was death (Prowl), stunning battle scenes (Optimus Prime vs Megatron), cliche names (Autobots, Decepticons), unintentional comedy (it had a freaking cassette that turned into a robot), random boobies (um...well...we saw "headlights"), and of course, an unbelievable ending

You want to talk 80s Action Movies you start with The Transformers

On another note, isn't it crazy that according to the movie all that took place in the year 2005? 2005 came and went and I have yet to see a car get up and start walking.
