Hmm. I'm really stretching to post in so many unnewsworthy topics. Really, I'm just frusterated that my posts per day are taking a hit.
But I offer this piece of insightful analysis on the topic: I like Rocky McIntosh.

thatguy, my question is did something happen that he is getting sugery now or was he waiting from an old injury?
Sounds like he's probably just getting a quick clean up.

yeah, the article didn't say anything and i didn't turn on 980 yesterday, so i don't know. the fact that its so minor as to barely be mentioned is why i'm sure that the details just don't matter. probably 10-20 guys on our team have had minor surgery this offseason, and most won't even get mentioned unless by gibbs in passing.
If you hear anything specific, please lay it down. If not though, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for info, cause unless gibbs has a presser today, it'll probably be forgotten about.

THE WASHINGTON TIMES
Rookie outside linebacker Rocky McIntosh will have arthroscopic knee surgery today and will miss the team's minicamp this weekend.
In a statement, coach Joe Gibbs said McIntosh will be ready for training camp. Director of sports medicine Bubba Tyer said through a team spokesperson that McIntosh's injury had developed gradually throughout May and June and the Redskins wanted to operate now so the problem wouldn't linger into training camp.
The team's first draft pick (second round) in April, McIntosh is expected to compete for the starting weak-side linebacker job with Warrick Holdman and Chris Clemons.
McIntosh joins quarterback Mark Brunell (finger) on the sideline for the three-day minicamp, which starts Friday.

Am I mistaken or was Rocky seen as somewhat of an injury risk coming out of college?

Yeah, which was probably what made him slip into the second round. Minor surgery though. He'll be all good.

NFLDraftScout:
A preseason knee injury in 2003 limited McIntosh to reserve duty, where he produced 23 tackles (16 solos) and batted away two passes.
He started six times at strong-side linebacker and three times in the middle for the Hurricanes in 2004, earning All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors. He missed several late season games, including the Peach Bowl, with a shoulder injury, but still finished second on the team with a career-high 111 tackles (37 solos). McIntosh also registered four sacks, 13 stops for losses and eight quarterback pressures.
McIntosh was again named All-ACC honorable mention as a senior. He started the final 11 games at strong-side linebacker, leading the team with 89 tackles (50 solos). He posted 5.5 sacks and 10 stops behind the line of scrimmage while also causing one fumble and recovering two others.
In 46 games at Miami, McIntosh started 26 times. He recorded 266 tackles (127 solos) with 9.5 sacks for minus-69 yards, 32 stops for losses of 124 yards and nine pressures. He had two fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles and seven pass deflections.
.....
Durability issues might concern some, as he has dealt with knee and shoulder problems in recent years.
......
And I found this very interesting:
Recorded 200 of his 266 career tackles, all of his 9.5 sacks and 23 of his 32 stops behind the line of scrimmage in his last two seasons.
