the main reason to change rules is to better the game. allowing running backs to wear #5 does not better the game in any way. i'm glad the nfl did not change it's rule.

SkinsLove24/7 05-27-2006, 02:38 PM Proves that no single man can beat the system. Although nobody wants this to happen its gonna take more than reggie to make the NFL change a policy nobody has a problem with. arrington_QBkiller 05-27-2006, 04:28 PM I can't wait until December when Sean Taylor gives Reggie Bush an early Christmas present jdlea 05-27-2006, 04:45 PM im glad they didnt change it for reggie bush...hes no one special hes just a first rounder thats unproven. hes so full of himself that he thinks he can be the ONLY exception in the nfl since who knows. i dnt like reggie bush.....hes full of himself........until he proves himself in the nfl hed better keep his cockiness more to himself Why does him asking if he can wear #5 make him cocky? He asked if he could wear the number he's worn since he was in high school and probably before that. I don't see what the big deal is. He hasn't complained about it, he just asked the league if he could wear the number. The last exception was Keyshawn, btw. He had to get permission to wear 19 and now receivers all over the league wear numbers in the teens. jordanz301 05-27-2006, 07:51 PM ur aloud to wear numbers in the teens if most of the numbers in the 80's are gone......keyshaun= proven to make plays......reggie=nobody!!!!!!! GTripp0012 05-27-2006, 11:03 PM I'm pretty happy that they didn't bend the rules. It's a good way to start the post Tags era, and I don't want to see the league change all the policies that made it successful over the next few years. This was a minor one, but things are done differently in the NFL, and I don't want to see an issue like this start a snowball of change. Officially though, the league started granting wide receivers jersey numbers between 11-19 because teams started running out of numerals between 80-89 as more and more wideouts and tight ends were added to their rosters. jdlea 05-28-2006, 01:06 PM ur aloud to wear numbers in the teens if most of the numbers in the 80's are gone......keyshaun= proven to make plays......reggie=nobody!!!!!!! Really? That's funny cause Keyshawn was allowed to wear #19 by the NFL when he was a rookie. So, clearly he hadn't proven anything at the time. Beemnseven 05-30-2006, 05:32 PM Really? Why did they make an exception for Keyshawn before the official rule change? Anybody know the answer to that one? |
