I think he will be cut sometime between June 1 and the start of the season; unless he has somehow miraculously improved his performance.
Will T. Jacobs Be Cut ?warriorzpath 05-24-2006, 11:12 AM I think he will be cut sometime between June 1 and the start of the season; unless he has somehow miraculously improved his performance. FRPLG 05-24-2006, 11:15 AM I think it is almost guaranteed. He is at best 5th on the depth chart and offers no return skills and hasn't demonstrated anything to keep him around. He needs to have gotten much improved to even have a chance. 12thMan 05-24-2006, 11:17 AM Since we usually have this conversaton around June, I'm betting he stays on board. I mean, we cut Taylor and Ade every year don't we?? Gmanc711 05-24-2006, 11:17 AM The thing with Jacobs is he tends to have a great training camp and all the coaches and players end up saying "Watch out for Taylor Jacobs, he could end up being the best reciver we have", then as soon as its time to perform, he fizzles out and you dont hear from him again. They need to take a serious look at his performance the last few years, and I think he is as good as gone. As far as Ade goes, I think the guy played his way into a spot last year. With the exception of that touchdown against Denver that he gave up (which was decently covered, but not great), the guy played great for us on special teams and was alot better than anyone excpected in the secondary. So I hope and think that Ade stays on board. scowan 05-24-2006, 11:18 AM I guess a lot of it depends on how many WRs make the final roster, but you have to think Moss, Lloyd, El, Patten and Thrash are locks, maybe in that order, so that is 5. Will we keep 6 WRs? EEich 05-24-2006, 11:21 AM gone daddy gone warriorzpath 05-24-2006, 11:26 AM Do you think anyone takes a chance on him when (or if) he gets cut ... say the eagles ? amorentz 05-24-2006, 11:31 AM I think he hangs around...he may suck, but at least he's cheap... I doubt we'd get another guy as cheap who at least has solid raw talent, plus he has some experience in the system. ArtMonkDrillz 05-24-2006, 11:31 AM Do you think anyone takes a chance on him when (or if) he gets cut ... say the eagles ? I would say a bunch of teams would take a chance with him. I could see philly, green bay, San fran., cleveland, etc. giving him a roster spot if we decide to cut him. MTK 05-24-2006, 11:41 AM I think it will come down to him or Patten as the possible odd man out at WR. |
