A reciever can not alway's be blamed for lack of production, team concept, and a legitamate QB are also a major factor, Moss is case and point, living here in jersey I follwed his career and when we traded for him I said the jets didn't know what they had because Pennington couldn't reach the guy with that rag arm of his, did anyone see Moss having the kind of season he had for us? I know the Jets didn't.

Your first sentence is true. But it makes no sense to compare Moss to Jacobs. Moss had put some decent numbers in his career before exploding last year. TJ hasn't done anything. Secondly, you say Pennington couldn't reach Moss because of that rag arm of his. But then Moss did great when he joined the Skins. But how could he if Brunell has a weak arm as well? I don't get it

Patten didn't get many looks because let's face it, early on Moss was red-hot.

Like I said, we'll see how a new offensive philosophy and depth at WR changes things in the passing game.

I'll tell you what he's going to say. Moss did it all on his own. In spite of Brunell's horrible play, Moss somehow managed to have a career season. All the credit to Moss, none to Brunell.

Well theres a lot of truth to that, how many short passes did Moss turn into big plays? He made a lot of yards on those WR screens he was running 5 times a game, Moss's season could have been even better than it was, how many balls did we see Brunell underthrow when he blantanly had the defense beat? And that was a big part of our offensive problems, teams didn't believe Brunell could beat them deep so they brought 8 men into the box, covered the short patterns knowing they could recover in time on the deep passes, Aikman touched on that very point during a game, and what he said was that recievers were breaking open downfield but by the time they do they are to far for Brunells arm to get the ball to them effectivly. Lets face it the guy is an NFL QB he's going to complete passes, but is he efficient enough to beat quality teams and win a championship, he did nothing the last 3 games of the season, and yes that was against quality teams. 3 tough defenses with very good defensive schemes, Brunell might as well have been throwing with his right arm.

I agree, anyone who thinks brunell is the long term qb anwser, jason cambell begs the differ. Not only will brunell loose his starting job about midway into the season do to injury or possibly just getting beat out for the starting roll due to inconsistency. I agree that he came up big for us last year in clutch times but if it had not been for moss and portis our offense would be been non-existent.
