I've finally read something on espn.com that doesn't completely destroy the Skins. Since this was an Insider story and I refuse to pay to read those I had a co-worker print me out a copy, so I unfortunately don't have a link. Gary Horton from Scouts.com says...
If spending money on high-profile veteran free agents is a sucessful formula for winning, we should put the Redskins in the Super Bowl right now. Saftey Adam Archuleta, DE Andre Carter, WR Randle El and TE Fauria are all upgrades at their respective positions if they can jell in a new system.
Randle El is a huge acquisition because he gives the Redskins a legitimate three-wide receiver, one-back offensive set, which is their scheme of choice. Not only will it give them a chance for more big plays, but it also will open up great running lanes for Portis. If they can get consistancy from the QB position, whether it is Brunell or Campbell, the Redskins are poised for a deep playoff run.
Basically nothing new, but I feel like it's nice to know we aren't the only ones who think the Redskins are going to improve on their playoff run from last year.
