toughest divisionNicknacK89 05-14-2006, 02:09 AM is the nfc east really the toughest division?? afc west and nfc south also look really strong dmek25 05-14-2006, 06:01 AM with both the giants and dallas both improving, the east is back Gmanc711 05-14-2006, 08:11 AM I'd still say without a doubt the NFC East is the best division top to bottom. It remains to be seen weather or not we have the best team in football within the division (which I cant really pinpoint who that is at this point), but top to bottom I dont think anyone comes close. We had two teams in the playoffs last year who both made DRASTIC improvments in the offseason. Dallas was really a game away from making the playoffs, and they have made a couple improvments, including TO who could potentially make that team much better. The Eagles, you can say what you want, they arent as bad as was showcased last year. I still don't think they are anywhere near the level of play that they were at a few years ago, but I still think they are a team who could make some noise potentially. I really think you could take any team from our division, plug them into some of the divisions in the NFL (AFC East, NFC North, NFC West) and they could win the division. I just think top to bottom, the NFC East is the best, although I don't know for sure that they have the best team. BigSKINBauer 05-14-2006, 12:04 PM afc west has the raiders, NFC south has New orleans. WE are the only division in which anyone can win and we 3 of our teams are better than the best team in the NFC south and I wouldn't be all that scared to play the AFC west again. I would gladly play them twice than our division twice. Easily the BEast is the best and I think that is pretty much agreed upon in the media. MightyJoeGibbs 05-15-2006, 12:59 AM The shift in power has been moved to the NFC. NFC wins the superbowl and prowl for the next two years possibly. NFC East Division is ridiculous. Does anyone worry that the Giants have a better Defense than us with a passrush, returning deep linebacker roster, hugely improved secondary adding CB's, Safeties, while trimming the useless members we relied on to get us by with a split win???? NFC East teams all have bruising defenses. How can we expect to make it healthy without the depth we need to make it out alive , win home field in the postseason and stand strong in the Super Bowl? I see the formula being laid out and we have had numerous players step up I just dont want to see them becoming the Chiefs with a poor defense and super offense. Would Coach Williams retain talent heading in that direction?? I sure hope so GTripp0012 05-15-2006, 01:05 AM I'm not quick to say the NFC East is the toughest. It's certainly up there. From a leaguewide perspective, the Eagles scare me no more than the Saints or Raiders do. From a intradivisional perspective, they will be very hard to beat and I am almost expecting a split. Both Souths are going to be very strong this year. NFC East might be the strongest, but I am hesitant to pick either the NFC East or the South as the toughest. They are both really, really strong. GTripp0012 05-15-2006, 01:06 AM The AFC is still the stonger conference. I think the NFC wins the SB this year because thats where the top end teams are, but overall the AFC is the marginally stronger conference. Daseal 05-15-2006, 01:49 AM I think the AFC West is still the best division, but NFC East is the most competitive throughout. It depends a lot on this year, I see many teams in the AFC West dying off a bit this year (except Denver who may be lined up for a Super Bowl) D'BOYZ 05-15-2006, 02:35 AM The AFC may have the toughest teams (NE, Pitt, Colts) but all the divison they play have 1 or 2 bad oponents (NYJ,Buff, Houst, Ten, Oak) I believe the NFC EAST is the thoughest division in teh NFL because any of the teams could made the playoffs in another division Master4Caster 05-15-2006, 03:06 AM I think the AFC West is still the best division, but NFC East is the most competitive throughout. It depends a lot on this year, I see many teams in the AFC West dying off a bit this year (except Denver who may be lined up for a Super Bowl) I echo this thought. The NFC East race will be the most competitive with every team capable of 9-7. In fact, every team just might go 9-7 and send us all to the books for tie-breaker rules. The NFC East has the best coaching staff of any division and every East team improved itself. Also the East will have the highest soap opera content what with TO & the Eagles TO-less Eagles generally Arrington & the Redskins Santana and Sinorice Manning brothers on opening weekendThis will be a wide open race !!! |
