Need an MP3 player... recommendations?

Ok. So my birthday is coming up next month and it seems about time I finally asked for (and hopefully, receive!) an MP3 player. I was hoping that many of you out there have them and can recommend some over others. Right now I'm looking at the IPod Nano (4GB) and the SanDisk Sansa e270 (6GB). Tell me about others or tell me about these! Here's what I have/need as far as use and features:

--I have over 60GB of MP3's right now, but I don't care if I can only carry 4 or 6GB with me at a time.
--Prefer flash over hard drive so I can use when running, mowing the lawn, etc.
--I'm a techie for a living, so it doesn't have to be the easiest one to use. (Though I don't want to spend 20 minutes to find an album or a song everytime either...)
--I'm only going to be using it a PC (running Windows XP).
--Would want car accessories to play in the car (and charge in the car, if possible).
--I haven't used any services yet (like I-Tunes, Napster, etc.), so I have no preference to one over another... yet.
--Video is of little importance to me, though I can accept it as a feature of a device.

I feel like I'm missing something, but I can always add it later, or you can ask me questions if I'm forgetting something. Thanks for your help in advance!

Microsoft is making an awesome product. I'll have to find the name of the player, but they look bad ass and have all sorts of features.

Well, I think it's a Samsung at least.

This thing doesn't fit your criteria at all and i don't suggest it at all for you but it is a mother fucking beast. This is what I want and I don't ever get it. I just sit there thinking maybe I will spend $550+ on it. Its been under 500 before and that was when i was seriously considering it and has also been as high as like $750. Maybe someday I'll get it.

i have wanted the Archos since the AV 400 came out and was around 500, and now I want the AV500 because its newer and better.

Go with a samsung
http://www.samsung.com/sg/products/audio/mp3player/yp_z5abxsp.asp

It has a 36 hour battery life. No hard drive so it doesnt have any moving parts.

and you dont have to use itunes

As jamf alluded to. Itunes is just an awful product. Apple needs to work on it.

i got my sister and wife each their own SanDisk Sansa mp3 players, and they both love theirs. however, i noticed that to browse is a bit tough...although i haven't really read up on how to.

I've got a Dell Pocket DJ (20 GB). It's extremely easy to use. About 12 hours of battery life on it.

I find the quality of the headphones you're using is just as important as the unit itself, though. It's worth it to grab a good set of headphones once you have your player in hand.
