e3 happenings...TheMalcolmConnection 05-12-2006, 09:27 AM I hate how you basically have to bend over when you want to get the newest generation game consoles. I'm JUST NOW getting my own PS2. That Guy 05-12-2006, 09:32 AM PC only here. every 3-4 years i get a $500 computer and a $50-110 gfx card. If I had unlimited funds i'd consider it, but i don't. TheMalcolmConnection 05-12-2006, 09:42 AM See, I CANNOT stand the process of rebuilding a new machine. I know you can normally plug and play the hard drive into the machine but I prefer a clean install and that takes me like 2 weeks working on it 2-3 hours a day to get it back into the condition that I HAD it in. Not only that, I want to have the best graphics card because I feel like a bitch when I have to play my games on average settings. jbcjr14 05-12-2006, 09:51 AM Well, Sony pretty much flopped at this years E3 with their $600 price tag. Nintendo did well with the Wii and M$oft was probably the best one at the show this year as they continue to gobble up market share with at least a year lead time on Sony in the next gen race. M$oft is now starting to tie in Windows, Xbox, mobile, etc...with some pretty sick ideas. Not too mention they did land Grand Theft Auto IV for the X360 in 2007 to go along with Halo 3. saden1 05-12-2006, 10:46 AM I really have lost almost all interest in video games. I use to spend hordes of cash on upgrading my PC every two years or so. Now, well, I don't even have Windows installed on my home machine. About the only console games I ever play are NFL 2k5 & NBA Live. I don't know why I lost interest though I suspect the non-existence of worthy games and having something else to do with my free time has something to do with it. It's all boring really. saden1 05-12-2006, 10:51 AM Well, Sony pretty much flopped at this years E3 with their $600 price tag. If they are pricing the games at $69+ I would be more worried. You're also getting a next generation DVD player too (here is to Sony winning the DVD Wars). TheMalcolmConnection 05-12-2006, 11:06 AM If they don't win though, you've just invested a lot of money in a dead technology. I'll cross my fingers for anyone who buys a PS3. jbcjr14 05-12-2006, 02:44 PM I have an X360, so I won't be getting a PS3 unless they start to show me some online gaming capabilities and Blu Ray does take off. Personally I don't think Sony can match the online play that M$oft already has in place and will never catch up. M$oft is really putting the resources in the xbox 360 and the online platform this year and for the foreseeable future...Sony could be in some trouble in this gen of gaming, but certainly will fight back in the next gen 4-5 years from now. BigSKINBauer 05-12-2006, 03:06 PM I am going to go play video games right now, this thread has made me want to play. TheMalcolmConnection 05-12-2006, 03:10 PM Do you think that games are ever going to "hit the wall" in how realistic they can get? |
