Ramseyfan I agree with you. (In an open competition if Bowen wins then so be it) but I think that Ohalette and Taylor should start with Bowen coming off the bench in certain situations. He does not seem to tackle any better than Ohalette (in game situations that is). and don't forget the Keyshawn Johnson bomb, how you let slow Keyshawn out run you? Imagine what would happen if Bowen wound up on T.O.? atleast Ohalette could run with him. Plus i like the way Ohalette returns picks. Also, we can't go out and get free agents for every position all the time, Ohalette has been developed by the Redskins (good for the cap).

Whoever wins it wins it. No reason to give away jobs in May. I personally think Ohalette has been more of a playmaker than Bowen but this will work itself out in camp.

I have a feeling in Bowen we paid starter money for a decent backup type player.

I watched all Redskin games start to finish and only recall one play where Bowen took a bad angle. The guy is an excellent hitter and sure tackler - just what you need that position. Don't fire him for one mistake...

Bowen and Ohalete are both average safeties with room for improvement, should be an interesting camp battle to keep an eye on.

I also like Ohalete (slightly) more than Bowen. I think Ohalete had a interception return for a TD? It might have helped win a game?
They are both going to be better this year with better/professional coaching and schemes. Plus last year was a great learning experience for both of them.

I'd prefer to have a veteran that could mold Taylor.

The thing is - Ohalate was an undrafted free agent (or late round pick) who we've molded and last year was his 2nd year and his first year starting. No where to go but up!

He signed the one year deal, so it's time for him to prove what he can do so he can go for the big bucks as an UFA. I think he has a realistic shot at beating out Bowen and I look forward to seeing the competition between the three of them (yes the three of them....Yeah, Taylor is practically guaranteed to start, but he is a rookie, plus EVERY player will have to earn a starting job).

You know what the beautiful part about that is... This is a player that we found, we developed, we didn't overpay here. And the son of a bitch has some upside. We need to do this a whole hell of a lot more. :biggthump

Im pretty sure Iffy was undrafted. Becuase for him to have been drafted we would have had to have picks, which is not a common scene in Washington. Im hoping we start to get production out of our late round draft picks. Im looking forward to seeing Cooley, and those two tackles look like Bugels type of guys, how could they ask for a better oline coach.
