Do you think Lavar is Okay.....

See for me, I think if he does well in NY, it just means 1. He's healthy again, and 2. NY is simply a better fit. To me, it just became obvious fairly early on that Gregg Williams's system doesn't fit Lavar, and Lavar doesn't fit Williams's system. And that's ok. There's nothing wrong with that. Like Lavar said in the beginning of his interview......it's no different than any other job. Sometimes there just comes a time when you know that it's the right time to move on.

So for me, if Lavar tears it up, it just means he found the right fit for him. At the same time, it doesn't mean he would have had the same success for the Skins. In fact, he probably wouldn't have because Lavar and the system here just don't fit anymore.

When next season is over, we'll see what everyone has to say about all of it. There are some scenarios that I expect to play out. Until then, I will probably reserve judgment.

if that ever happens then every thread on this board will be dedicated to how we should have kept him

I agree 100%. I kept suggesting the skins trade him a couple of years ago while they could have got something worthwhile in return and everybody on this site told me I was nuts, LA was a skin for life, on and on. Now its impossible to find anyone that will say anything good about him, its amazing what a change of clothes will do.

Those are the keys to all of it. The jersey he wears changes perspective. And time changes things - the redskins are not the same team, and he's not the same player.

Thing is I'm not sure that trading him was ever a viable possibility due to his huge contract.

Lavar, Lavar how far you did fall,
When you pissed Greg off, no sniff of the ball.
Much time to reflect, to the media, did you whine,
That action guaranteed, to buy more of the pine.
Joe say; son, what’s the problem with you?
Gotta be me coach, not a clone, you know it’s true.
That may be costly, be smart, and follow along,
Be a team guy, it’ll work, you can’t afford to be wrong.
Sorry, need the big cash, gotta’ go, the G’men await,
Ask my man Poston, the Skins, there already late.
The brothers P, know best, just look at my perk,
It only cost me six mil to look like a jerk.
The P-men say, four more is good thing,
All the greats, as you know, have to pay for the ring.
You stressed the faithful, often on the WP list
As for the haters, at you, they’re perpetually pissed.
A mistake made, career blown, what a shame,
Coulda’ been a Skins star, got a ring with the same!
