Sociofan 05-01-2006, 10:20 AM Will any of it even matter if the Lombardi trophy is sitting in Redskin Park next January?
Remember back when the Colts landed the two biggest prizes in the draft? Steve Emtman and Quentin Coryatt? (The number 1 and 2 overall picks)
That was the year Washington "blew it" by taking Bobby Wilson in the first round (a bust), Ricky Ervins in the second (a 3rd down back) and no one else anyone will remember except Keenan McCardell in the 12th (who we immediately got rid of). Even with such a crap draft, they went 14-2 and won the Super Bowl.
Who cares about the draft grades? Let Gibbs take the players he wants and "coach em up". I say we start a write-in campaign to force Kornheiser to get that Bandwagon out of mothballs.
Well who woulda thunk it, offiss being pessimistic. :)
TheMalcolmConnection 05-01-2006, 11:09 AM I'll give us a B-. I'm with the consensus that we paid too much for Rocky, BUT remember that we might not have had ANY LB that we wanted available if we would have waited longer, so I do agree with it.
gibbs4life 05-01-2006, 11:12 AM over and over i have to tell you guys that coach gibbs isnt in the hall of fame for nothing:)
that makes two of us doesn,t it.
those experts really have the redskins peged but i say who cares.
win the super bowl they all will find a closet to hide in.
TheMalcolmConnection 05-01-2006, 11:27 AM I am down with all our picks, but I gotta' say, is anyone else worried about the picks that the rest of the NFC East made? I think that each team got some GREAT players, especially the Eagles.

Eagles getting both Bunkley and Winston Justice was a downright steal, that's very scary. I wouldn't have blinked if Justice went to them at the 14th pick. But getting him at 39 is huge. That Jean-Gilles guy looks pretty good too, he's huge. Could solidify that interior blocking which would help them a ton. Running between the tackles is the team's biggest weakness, and if they can get that going they become an extremely dangerous offense. Bloom gives them a serious return threat too.
Giants getting S Moss in the 2nd round was a nice bargain. I hope Sean Taylor doesn't feel bad about decapitating Santana's little brother.
Schneed10 05-01-2006, 11:39 AM That's how the offseason goes. We pillage and plunder in free agency and it looks like we gained on everyone in the division. But then the Eagles have their draft, and they always restock big time. And all of a sudden, they look pretty scary again.
It's a real tough division. I still like our chances, but I can see us going 3-3 in the division, 10-6 overall, making the playoffs, and then killing any non-NFC East team in the playoffs.
TheMalcolmConnection 05-01-2006, 11:41 AM Yeah, if those offensive linemen do ANYTHING close to how they're projected, they'll have a very dominant offensive line. At least we can hope that Griffin's experience will help him PWN a few of the rookies if they start.
Schneed10 05-01-2006, 11:42 AM Also, just wanted to say that if you end up with a starter come out of the 5th, 6th, or 7th round, then you have to view that as a bonus. Your draft is not a failure if you don't end up with any starters from those rounds. Nobody can ever expect starters to come from those rounds. It's just icing on the cake.

I wonder how Santana would react. They seem like close brothers and with that - blood might be thicker than water.
