Agreed but its the base of the future. See all championship teams they make good draft moves and pics and they usually have a lot of pics each year and is rare thay give future draft pics to move up wich is also rare see NE how they picked C.Jakson, or Philly or Denver none gave next year draft picks to move up and if they do they're usually second day late pics they know that.
Last I checked, neither Philly nor Denver have won a super bowl any time recently (or at least not since the Elway years). And with their phenominal "base" players, the Eagles ended up last in the NFC East last year?

There are enough examples of teams that won by way of FA aquisitions, good luck and good drafting as there are teams that lose year in and year out due to FA aquisitions, bad luck and poor drafting. The 3 keys to building championship teams is coaching, chemistry and uhhh...something else that starts with a "c".

{looks over to a panel of judges} Yes, we'll accept "committment" as the third "c".
I don't think it has to be that complicated.
The redskins gave up 2 picks to move up: (1) next year's 2nd rounder and (2) a 6th rounder this year. The moving up part was the redskins swapping our 2nd rounder with the Jets' 2nd rounder (moving up from 53 to 35).
I don't how that concept can be that complicated. And I am trying to think of some metaphor to help explain it, but anything more that I add would just confuse things even more.
It's not complicated, but I think that's the problem.

3 starters for JP Losman? Spears is a definite starter that will contribute, no argument there. JJ can't stay on the field long enough to gain Parcells confidence. And Bledsoe? Bledsoe? Bledsoe stepped out of the shower this morning and got sacked again by Phillip Daniels. During his time with Dallas has he led the team to the promised land? No, he throws it to the other team late in the fourth so they can score the game winning TD.
during his time in dallas he's only been with us 1 year? and almsot reached the playoff with the worst Oline in history an oline that made Phillip Daniels a total underachiver like a probowler (please and don't arguew there because before that game you were all calling for his head), and JJ yes he has ahd awful injuries and we might have to question his durabillity but you can't deny he has shown sign of greatness.
And right now those 3 are starters JP is fighting for his spot and was bentched last season so tell me right now who got the better end of the deal.

THAT's HUMOR!!
But seriously Dboys, you cannot be holding out Denver, NE, Philly as the model teams of the new Millenium??????? Only one of the three is even in the same league (from as accomplishment standpoint)as the SKINS under JOE. Incidently that includes Parcells. That having been said, why would we be inclined to follow that example? Joe is not afraid to be the innovator. Don't be afraid to Lead!
Moving up on the draft giving up future draft pics isn't innovating it has been done for ages and well history speeks for itself just tell me from the past 6 draft tell me all your first day pics how many are still on the team how many are probowlers or have lived to the spot they where drafted. How many are or will be busts you'll see a high percentage of players that didn't turn out to be what you plan that's why having more pics gives you a better chance 2 succed ( also selecting good players but thats another topic).
I agree Joe isn't afraid of innovating and yo usee it with the size and type of receivers his bringing this year but what his doing i nthe draft isn't innovating and has written dissaster all over the place we can talk about it in 4 years when gibbs is no longer in the team.

i don't know how you compare a 6th round pick to hank aaron, pete rose or mickey mantle...
Man i just gave names I didn'tput value on them of course they aren't worth a six.... just names to express a point.

I think that Rocky Mc.intosh will be a great player if he can stay healthy, and not become injured. He should be able to make a great contribution to the Redskins linebacker core.

Philly hasn't won a SB but wen't to 4 consecutive championships games i nthe past 5 years tahts a championship caliber team... and tell me the last time Denver had a mediocare team you know a team that went 5 -11 like ours has thats a championship caliber team a team that's allways is competing and has a posibility to go for the superbowl.
