I know next year we still have a 1st, 3rd, fourth, 6th, and 7th. That Guy 04-30-2006, 12:04 AM The two biggest shocks to me are Demetrius Williams and Darnell Bing still being on the board. I know that Bing has a knock for intelligence, but Williams should have gone ahead of guys like Hagan and Brandon Williams. Then again, I was surprised to see Stovall go so late. Other big shocks: LenDale White went so low. Ashton Youboty lasted into the third round (he was projected as a 1st rounder on a lot of boards) Matt Leinart was still on the board at #10. Washington traded UP to get McIntosh, who I believe would have still been there at #53. Just goes to show you that draft day is far from a science. youboty was over concerns he's technique is bad and he tends to get beat deep peeking into the backfield too long... he's also small for run support (which is like the A1 concern for GW when he picks corners). Lendale was the not running, not working out, and bad interviews. The others are harder to explain (leinhart was just a talent that couldn't find someone with a need at QB. matt millen had a good case, but detriot fans may have shot him for it. AZ is a nice warm (no snow) place without the wind of other places, which is a good fit). Sheriff Gonna Getcha 04-30-2006, 12:05 AM Ko Simpson or Darnell Bing (4th - trade up) Matt Berstein (6th) That Guy 04-30-2006, 12:05 AM so what picks do we have left in this draft? I know next year we still have a 1st, 3rd, fourth, 6th, and 7th. 5th - #21 6th - #4, #27 7th - #22, #41 next year we have 1, 3, 5, 6, 7 (4th for lloyd, 2nd for mcintosh) Darrell_Green_28 04-30-2006, 12:09 AM QB Marcus Vick? That Guy 04-30-2006, 12:10 AM I like Greg Blue out of Georgia but we have already signed Archiletta. That Guy: I thought Gilles was a blue chipper. Why did he fall out? weight/motor/speed issues (they're all related). he has to work hard to stay under 360lbs, he only runs a 5.5, and he's worthless on the second level, cause he can wear out easily. for a team like the colts or AZ he'd be perfect. ray brown had the exact same issues gilles has, but he was fine for us, so those negatives shouldn't be considered a death-knell. This guy just isn't going to be pulling like randy thomas. fred matui is the best "athletic" OG left, and he's also polished. spencer gives you the a best of both, but he's a bit of a project, since he only played OL two years, and OG for one. (two years at DT previous to that). That Guy 04-30-2006, 12:11 AM QB Marcus Vick? nah, he might be a late 5th, 6th or even undrafted. this list is for thoe projected in the first day that didn't hear their name called. for guys left rated lower, gerrick mcphearson (CB), dion byrum (CB), jahri evans (OT), will montgomery (OT), etc etc etc... too many still, but we have another thread on that already. hooskins 04-30-2006, 03:06 AM who do you want to see here. If you were the gm who would you get? As for me my list of potential guys are: Elvis Dumervil DE/ LB Louisville Brad Butler Tackle Virginia Gerrick McPhearson/ CB Maryland Alan Zemaitis cb/penn state Demetrius Williams wr oregon Jason Pociask TE Wisconsin Martin Nance WR Miami (OH) These are just some names of the guys I like still out there and if they come up during our pick I hope we give them a glance Butler is pretty good, but he really pulled a dirty move agaisnt BC this year mooby 04-30-2006, 03:50 AM I would like us to take a look at Orien Harris or Elvis Dumervil tomorrow. The last i heard of Dumervil some were projecting him to be a second round pick. What happened? |
