Taylor's trial likely to be postponed againdavy 05-08-2006, 11:24 AM July 10th :( http://cbs4.com/topstories/local_story_128105718.html SmootSmack 05-08-2006, 12:27 PM Have you guys seen this article? (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/2006-05-04-community-service_x.htm) Pretty interesting read Hog1 05-08-2006, 12:38 PM My attorney told me one time, "In the legal system, the only people that pay, are those that cannot afford to". Sage wisdom! Maybe worse than that, the punishment these guys get is signifigantly better than my life. I must admit however, dude raising a sack of cash for charity probably serves more good than kickin' cans down the road on a chain gang. Giantone 05-08-2006, 03:25 PM How's that? If he's convicted of what he's been charged with there is a mandatory minimum of 3 years for each count. And this is a criminal case, not a civil case......so where does the 1 million come from? If he's innocent, he'll get off free and clear..........but if he's found guilty, there's nothing anyone can do about the sentence starting at 3 years and going up from there. plea bargan. PSUSkinsFan21 05-08-2006, 03:31 PM plea bargan. From what I've heard Taylor has already rejected the plea bargain offered by the prosecutor that would have had him avoiding jail time. I think they've taken the stance that they are fighting this, all-or-nothing. And there's still no way $1 million gets worked into a criminal plea bargain. JWsleep 05-08-2006, 04:04 PM The plea bargain they rejected still had him pleading to a felony, I think. That's still WAY too much to plead to here, if things are as shaky for the state as they appear. Misdemeanor suspended sentence is what they're waiting for, but they may feel they have a strong enough case to win it in court no matter what, and they want to vindicate Sean. We'll see. Man, I wish it would go away already. EEich 05-08-2006, 04:05 PM Redskins | Police and courts: S. Taylor Mon, 8 May 2006 12:27:17 -0700 The Associated Press reports Washington Redskins S Sean Taylor had his trial date delayed once again, this time until July 10. It's the seventh time the trial has been delayed. Taylor, who wasn't present at Monday's hearing, May 8, has pleaded not guilty and is free on bail. Taylor faces a faces a minimum of three years in prison on each of three aggravated assault charges. TheMalcolmConnection 05-08-2006, 04:07 PM Sean Taylor's trial = Our Cap Hell gibbsisgod 05-08-2006, 04:09 PM Never gonna happen? TheMalcolmConnection 05-08-2006, 04:11 PM Damn right. Honestly, I wish this thing would just get over because honestly, if it makes it to the season, they'll just postpone it until after the season. Maybe they're waiting on all key witnesses to die of old age. |
