Brunell is a MAJOR concern!!!!!!!!!
When he's on, he is to this team what Rich Gannon was to the 02 Raiders. Brunell is a mobile veteran, who manages the game better than maybe anyone else in the league (maybe not Trent Green), has toughness, and has a really low INT total. With Brunell, we could throw every down, and have a successful offense. I truely believe that. Luckily, we don't have to because we have one of the three best RBs in the league back there.

the beginning of last year i was majorly concerned about brunell, and he earned my respect and confidence before mid season. yeah his play hurt us in the end because he was a little banged up, but thats a problem for any qb w/ a leg or knee injury. most of my concern is if ST makes it on the field. we all know our defense can certainly manage w/o him bc of our great schemes and hvy rotations and game planning. but teams will not be as fearfull and will game plan more aggresively. which means we could be on the wrong side of some close games.

Excellent analysis.

If Brunnell is healthy or close to it we're fine. If he goes down we could be in trouble. Is Campbell, Rothesberger or Losman? If he's like Big Ben we're fine. If he's like JP we're sunk because teams will line up everybody in the box to stop Portis...and we're back where we were two years ago.

QB is the sink or swim position for every team IMHO...cept the Bears but they dont play in the NFC East.

The Bears QB situation is better than anyone gives it credit for. Same with our QB situation. Still, I agree with this point.

23 TD's
10 INT

are you serious?

Don't get to caught up with stats, take a good hard look at his final 3 performance's inc. the playoffs, that's the Brunell who's a MAJOR concern!

Gibbs has proven he can drive a square peg through a round hole when it comes to QB's, well he has his work cut for him.

For some reason people are starting to buy into the fact when Brunell constantly throws the ball away instead of making a play he's managing the game, well perhaps if your waiting for someone else to win it for you like our defense did down the stretch, I for one expect much more out of a QB, such as the ability to take over a game and win it for you, rather than to leave the defense on the field all day in hopes they will win it!

Gibbs would rather have a QB who doesn't lose him the game than one who goes out and wins it. When he has both the Skin's historically wind up in the SuperBowl(Theisman, Rypien, Williams). If Brunell is 100% healthy at playoff time we'll be in great shape...but what are the chances of that happening? I dont know much at all about Collins but he very familar with this system. Eventually Campbell is going to have to be that guy if this is going to work long term. Beyond this season anyway. Hope for the best this year. Campbell better be ready by the start of next season, if not before that.

Brunell might not throw it away as much with more weapons to look for down field. Last year he'd look to Moss, then to Cooley and then throw it in the stands. He should have more to look at this season. We'll see. It's just really hard for me to completely trust a guy who was so bad two years ago and who is that old. How long can this renassance last? Lets hope one more season and the playoffs.
