The Washington Redskins have used a high-powered coaching staff to lure many exciting Free Agents in the Market to Washington. The biggest addition of theirs was the signing of Wide Receiver Antwaan Randle El, and the exciting playmaker had many suitors for his services this off-season. He just knew one thing, and that was his time in Pittsburgh needed to end. It was time for him to move on, and not for reasons that were of a negative times in Pittsburgh. Randle El was just ready to be the next Plaxico Burress. In Pittsburgh, you are the number two receiver to Hines Ward, and it teaches you how to be a better number one receiver. Randle El is now ready to move on, and be a major number one-A receiver to Santana Moss. Randle El turned down more money, and he turned down playing in his hometown of Chicago. Those were all things he could have had elsewhere, but he has a good feeling about the Redskins, and how can you not.

The Redskins have Joe Gibbs, Defensive guru Williams, and now the Offensive wizard in Al Saunders. This is the best coaching staff ever put together, and they will take advantage of all the weapons Randle El brings to the table. I expect a lot of good things from Randle El this season, and I expect him to hook up with Santana Moss on more then one occasion from his trick passing style. They have so many weapons you think a guy would get lost, but they are gonna be keying on Moss after last year. That should allow Randle El to be open early and often this season so I expect nothing less then a solid 2006 season. If Randle El has a bad season, I will be very disappointed, because I think in this offense the potential is there for a monster season from the former Quarterback.

Fantasy Value: In this offense, I think Antwaan is capable of getting 800 yards receiving as a ceiling for what he can do. He should up his previously poor TD total, and should be able to get close to 5 TD Catches and has the potential to run a few in. Being an ex QB, he has the ability to throw for a TD or two during trick plays. So all in All Randle El could total ten or so TD’s if your league gives you TD‘s for receiving punts and kicks., and that is not too shabby. He should provide a lot of value with those 800 yards, 10 total tds, and 100 yards running, and passing for the season. All signs are up for the talent that is Randle El.

he turned down LESS money in chicago. Danny outbid them by a large margin to negate his hometown discount rate for the bears.

he was best suited as a #3 WR in pittsburg, and that's what he'll probably be here. slot guy behind #1 moss and #2 lloyd. I'd be mildly surprised if he got more than 8 TDs total.

This is all speculative BS written from a fantasy perspective, not a football perspective. The INDIVIDUAL numbers of any of the Skins receivers don't matter -- the total numbers and subsequent wins do. The value of the FA WR moves is the overall impact on scoring. The idea is for each of these individual players to make the TEAM better -- not to score fantasy points.

his biggest value to the redskins will be on special teams.randle-el is a threat to go all the way every time he touches the ball.also,as a slot receiver, will take pressure off of both moss and lloyd by consistantly getting open(and of course catching the football)

I woudlnt be surprised if Randel-El and Lloyd have identical numbers this year. I believe they will split time in the rotation. Who better to sub in for Moss when he get winded then one of these guys. Imagine how many deep balls Moss will be able to go get when he is rested up. Everyone is talkin about receivers but I think Portis wil have a career year. 2000+ yards and 15+ td's. He's gonna have a fullback in front of him and he's gonna be runnin the ball against nickel and dime defenses.

I think this is right, everyone expects Lloyd and AR-E to amass 1000 yard seasons, with Portis running at full octane. I think if both Lloyd and AR-E both have 800ish yards, that would be great bc it takes significant weight off of Moss and Cooley, and will spread out the D and make it easier for Portis to run up the gut. Do not expect Lloyd and AR-E to have amazing seasons, but expect them to have an significant impact on our offense.

if they both get 800 yards, its means brunell throws for 4000 in 2006... i'm still not sure that's in him yet... I guess we'll see.

I have read alot of your posts, and while you often have good insight there are times you are just too damn hard to please. If Randle El gets 6 TD's next year that will be a 600% improvment over last year. I agree that he might end up being the 3rd WR but then again so was Ricky Sanders, and he had a great career with us along with settind a SB record against the Broncos. I see alot of posts that put a negative spin on Randle El being a 3rd WR. The combination of Moss, Lloyd, Randle El, and Patten is going to be incredible. We should all applaud the fact that Gibbs and the front office were smart enough to do what ever it took to load up at WR so that our passing game and running game would be much less predictable. The weapons we have added to Moss, Portis, and Cooley will also make our Defense the top in the league.

Dana brings up some good points. Whats going to be great is when we get to watch all these new free agents taking the field this coming football season. I cant wait for the regular season to start!!!!!!!!!
